joshy207 156 Report post Posted December 19, 2009 Least something caught fire in Minnesota ba dum tssssss But really though this sucks for them. Hopefully they can get some equipment in time to play their next game. I'd imagine it's just a matter of money really. It's a matter of time, really... most of these guys have customizations done to their skates, some to their gloves, and the goalie gear is generally all customized. Some of the guys will have other gear on hand, maybe another pair of skates, gloves, the goalies might have an old (or new, not yet broken in) set of pads and gloves, the team will have extra sticks and other equipment on hand... but anyone needing new skates could have to wait about a week, and the goalie gear might take a week or two to replace. Yeah, the Protective Equipment Terrorist Association has it in for goalie gear especially. Oh my god... HILARIOUS!!
Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 I would have to think that there is not a smell on Earth worse than the smell of burning hockey gear. A manure truck on fire? Creepiest picture is definitely this one: http://twitpic.com/u2e4o I think it looks awesome. Backstrom should have his next mask look like that.
jeff48109 474 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 What I find suspicious is that Just 3 days ago, the Sabres had 7 players get food poisoning from eating at a steakhouse there, and now the Wild's equipment truck catches fire? Ut oh, Some Canadians are obsessing over their hockey team in the WRONG way. Lmao, I don't really think this is true but it just seems odd. i was thinking the same thing. let's see if anything happens when the Bruins play in Ottawa on Monday. Wombat 26 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 Key here is: Always have a backup...dun care what it is, but always have a back up... Problem being: where is the backup? On the same truck? Back home in Minneapolis? Unless they carry a backup of all of their equipment with them to the hotel, this is still going to cause a logistical nightmare for the team. And it looks like it might have cost them the game.
rbochan 15 Report post Posted December 20, 2009 First, 1/3 of the Sabres get food poisoning after eating in Ottawa, now this happens in Ottawa... Hmmm...
Hockey13Playa 240 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 So it looks as if the cargo truck that transports all of the Minnesota Wild's equipment caught fire and toasted most if not all of there equipment. Attached are some links to twitter with a bunch of pictures. Hockey13Playa 240 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 Oh woops, sorry I did a breif scan and didn't see anything. Must be blind. But that would totally suck. Esp when your equipment is all fitted and broken in, and you now need to start fresh with not much time to break it all in before your next game.
