CrossCheck24 2 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Helm- Back!! Filppula- End of this month ( a week!?!?!) Kronwall- 2-3 weeks Zetterberg- at least 2 weeks Ericsson- at least 2 weeks Cleary- Early to mid January Williams- Mid January Franzen- March Lilja- Indefinitely Looks like in about 10-15 games the team will have everyone but Franzen back. This leaves about 35 games to get back in game shape and get the team's record straightened out. To use what Chicago said about Hossa "They won't be tired for the playoffs" Oh and the wings will have about 8 guys in GR that have crucial NHL experience and can be relied upon. blankrap 9 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 I would like a real time line instead of these whacky estimates. I think (hope) that flips might surprise us all and play on Wednesday. Franzen looked really good in the intermission when they were showing him work out and stuff. Z just got injured so he is still at least two weeks and I think E should be back beginning january. Best case scenario is we have the whole roster back for after the winter games. Sigh.

Best case scenario is we have the whole roster back for after the winter games. Sigh. Filppula won't come back before the 26th. That was the absolute earliest estimate that Holland and the medical guys would give. Franzen still has a long way to go, despite how he looked working out; that's how ligament tears work. He's still probably in the process of healing, and they won't let him return until he won't see more tearing. As much as I hate to say it, Wings fans will just have to suck it up and wait patiently. Franzen coming back early to try and frantically give the team a boost would be more detrimental in the long run. Same with Filppula, Z, Ericsson, and Kronwall, really. Coming back early will likely mean more trouble in the long run, which means less playoff appearances. Not many people seem to get that, though. I'm just glad Holland does. Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted December 21, 2009 In an interview Filppula said he's expecting to be in shape for Christmas Eve. Finnish article which means the 26th... as they don't play anyone on the 24th or 25th.
Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 which means the 26th... as they don't play anyone on the 24th or 25th.Yeah, but no way he'll be playing against Blackhawks like some have speculated.
Kira 451 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 As long as he's back by New Year's Eve I'll be happy. I have tickets to that one. I almost hate to watch a game 'cause I'm afraid of who's next.
FinWing 26 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Yeah, but no way he'll be playing against Blackhawks like some have speculated. It would be huge having him back for the CBS games. With four games remaining this month, three of them at home, there's still a chance for the Wings to end up 9-4-1 for the month. That would be pretty damn good. We dont need anyone coming back at 75% only to get hit and be gone for the rest of the year. I'd rather everyone wait until they are completely healthy and be able to contribute to the team rather than rush it.
blankrap 9 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 On Dec. 23rd flips better be better than 75% because he isn't going to improve by 25% overnight. I was just hoping to see some offense back against this home and home with chicago is all. What is one day???????
themule0932 0 Report post Posted December 21, 2009 Just have to hope that along any timeline there is not another series of injuries and the way this year is going that is not guaranteed. We could get back 4 players or so and lose another 4 to injury once again.

Miller Brew 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 January is going to be a freaking great month. We're going to be getting a guy back just about every week, and some weeks we'll get two guys back. rdewate 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2009 The solution to our problem is to move Brad May to the top line and let him develop as our top scorer. He could be the next Franzen.
