thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 It was me, I wrote something similar to what he is claiming. I wrote in some other thread that before Wings started getting knocked out with injuries Babcock had stated our best line was the Leino-Filppula-Williams line. And I agreed with Babcock at the time... that was our best line back in early November. It makes sense to me that the wingers should/would improve with a better center, so OK. I assumed GMR was referring to the entire team "waking up". I guess I assumed wrong.
Rick Zombos Ghost 82 Report post Posted December 27, 2009 He was as good as expected. He will hit the wall in the next couple games and take a week to get going. Then he will go back to being a good, but not great hockey player. He is not a savior for this team. To be honest i dont know if Franzen would be either..... Guest zackmorris Report post Posted December 28, 2009 He didn't get 10 quality scoring chances in the slot and score 2 goals so to many, he played poorly. He had a good game. He made alot of little plays most people don't notice that show his value to the team. Slick little passes that set up good chances where other players would've made a worse play, smart defensive plays, etc. Just that pretty much all of those plays get forgotten the second the puck goes anywhere but the back of the net. Broken 16 381 Report post Posted December 28, 2009 He played well. Took some hits but was a little timid to shoot the puck as he usually is. Still he can't wake the dead like some have hoped. Leino was his usual zombie self, even with his Finnish linemate beside him. Fixed I thought he did fine. Did a good job on draws.
