Leino is lazy and he sucks

this thread should get interesting

The sad part is, it's true. He's playing incredibly lazy hockey right now. Or he is so far out of position that he looks lazy. Either way... lazy. I've seen him give up on so many plays and on so many backchecks that I can't believe Babcock is still icing him.

Leino has been a complete bust. It's pointless to even discuss trading him though. Who would take him? I'd like to think he will live up to his potential, but it's not looking that way. He's the least physical player on the team, and that's a not a title that you'd want to have, especially on a team like the wings. Before the season, I actually thought he might be able to be a 20 goal scorer. I guess him having a really sweet first goal in his first game last year upped my expectations.

Hopefully, he can have a good second half. If his production stays as it is, then he's a waste of a roster spot.

Leino couldn't hold Meech's jock.

hopefully that lights a fire and the negative from us turns into a positive for him :D

Leino has been fine, 700k player in his rookie season. You are to blame for your expectations not him. He'll be fine and you'll all eat crow when he becomes a solid NHL player.

As expected. :)

Yes he has the tools. We all know this. He doesn't show the desire. You rarely see him make that last lunge to lift the stick on a backcheck. He's content to pass off or dump the puck in one on one situations. He more or less throws his body into 2 and 3 on 1 situations and almost always ends up coughing the puck up. He's awful right now. I would much rather have what Newberry brings. Even the penalties.

Sorry I just have to disagree with every thread I post in.

If he's about to be made a healthy scratch for the second time in a two-week period, and even the coach has recognized his inability to compete, it's glaringly obvious he hasn't been "fine." I'm all for giving guys a chance, but he hasn't shown that he was what it takes to play for this organization, and there's absolutely no getting around that fact.

Good thing he pissed and moaned and threatened to go back to Finland to get time with the big club.

esteef

Very true. He moaned and bitched that he didnt want to play in the AHL anymore, then he comes to the NHL and puts in work ethic that makes Lang look like Helm.

He doesnt deserve to play in Grand Rapids. They work too hard down there just for a small chance of getting NHL time. Leino is a disgrace.

It's our fault we raised our expectations so high. He's a kid learning the NHL game. We're just f***in spoiled babies and expect every player to learn the game instantly. We wouldn't be LGW if we didn't just pick one player and tee off on him relentlessly.

Guess that Bertuzzi thing didn't work out eh? Admit it guys, you like doing this.

Yeah, cool. Well it's just true.

Same with that whole Lilja thing. Everyone calling for his head changed their tune pretty quick once he came around. It's juat a matter of patience and we're the equivalent of a little rich girl screaming "I WANT IT NOW"!

We're the same forum that would've traded Datsyuk. I don't think we have any room to be impatient.

Hey don't blame the whole forum on me wanting to trade a soft euro.

I've pretty much had it with this guy. If there ever was a time to step up and make a name for yourself, it is now. No way he will get the same opportunity once players start returning.
