Eh, I'm confident the Wings can survive a game or two of increased questionable hits, helmet-twisting and facewashes after the whistle. While May's role is certainly an important one, I trust that our guys can play with increased situational awareness and watch over their shoulders to make sure there's always a zebra between them and any bigger, stronger, meaner opponents.

Once again teh anti enforcer crowd shows up to show their bitterness that their god Kenny H signed a guy who fights by complaining. I'm sure any of them could give us the name of a figure skater they would rather see in his place.

I'm far from anti-enforcer, but if you start a thread about how Brad May is our MVP *because* he's -3... yeah, Imma LOL all over that.

If you're talking about me. :)

You're one of the most anti enforcer people on here but no I wouldn't even go so far as to say May is an MVP

Well, I have no issue with enforcers as long as they can play, and there is a thread saying he's the MVP because of his -3. True story.

Because with Brad May the other team wouldn't have thought to put any facewashes on our guys. Or even twisting of helmets.

Did you see how there was no scrums after the whistle during the Winter Classic game tonight? Man good thing there were enforcers on the ice to scare everyone. Would have been ******* chaotic without them.

I didn't watch the game, I only read about in on NHL.com:

I loved that the sidebar article about the Cacillo/Thornton fight was as long as it was. The game was 60 minutes long and relatively unusual as it was an outdoor game, but the league found the 30 second fight to be so interesting and worthy of discussion that 1/3 of what was written about the game concerned the fight. Hockey fans sure do love their Mays, Carcillos and Thorntons!

Anyway, was there alot of helmet-twisting post whistle and other such garbage? Unfortunately you seemed more interested in sarcasm than clear communication in your post so I'm not really sure.

This just in regarding Brad May's injury:

Red Wings forward Brad May will be out at least one week with a reported lower body injury. Sources are reporting that he suffered a testical rupture by being the only Detroit Red Wing to play with some balls in the 2009-10 season.

There was helmet twisting, lots of hitting, and crosschecking after the whistle during the Winter Classic. And there has been such in games where May has been on the ice.

Clear enough? Also you seem to argue towards the fact that fans love enforcers, when I have never doubted that and have supported May during the entire season. Still pointing me as an anti-enforcer?
