Congratulations to Rick DiPietro

He will be backing up Roloson tonight. Not starting yet. But congrats on getting back to the game after some very devestating injuries.

Stay healthy and get back to 75% of what you were before and you'll be a decent starter still!

Good Luck Ricky D. I'm cheering for you.

Hope we can continue to play for years to come, it is a shame he is wearing out so fast.

To me the biggest shame is that he first got really hurt goaltending in that stupid trick shooting competition at the skills competition. May have lost his career if this run doesn't work due to the damn skills competition, not even the all-star game.

Is this thread a shot at DiPietro?

I can't tell....tone is so hard to convey over the internet.

No not at all. I think he was on pace to be one of the best in the game before his injuries. He could be at close to the same level as Miller right now, what a rivalry those two could have had at top the league.

I've been a huge DiPietro fan since he was drafted, since I followed Ozzie to the Island, I have always been partial to the lslanders.

No shot at all. A legitamate congratulations for a guy working his ass off to get one more shot at the NHL.

Aaah, I couldn't tell if you were blasting the guy for seriously not being able to stay consistently healthy to save his life since the Isles signed him to that massive contract.

It's like the weight of that ridiculous contract crushed him.

You would have thought after Yashin, they'd have been reluctant to hand out 15-year, 50 bazillion dollar contracts.

Good for Dipietro for coming back, but remember he played three or four games last year before it flared up again.
