Flyers' Asham accuses Pens' Cooke of biting him during scrum

Seeing him raise the Cup was sickening. At least Crosby, as annoying as he is, is one of the top talented players in hockey. Cooke is a ***** who poses as a tough guy. Patrice Cormier must have Cooke as his hero.

Cooke is the epitome of what is wrong with our game - guys that run around trying to hurt each other, with no respect for each other, or the game, that will hide behind the officials when it comes time to own up for their actions... and the game lets them hide...

When there's no fear of retribution, low-lives will always sink as low as they can...

The instigator rule needs to go.

Can't disagree with anything Asham is saying, Cooke is what he is, but it's kinda funny coming from a guy like Asham, who's no mister nice guy out there. He also plays with a guy named Hartnell. I would appear as though you could replace Cooke with Hartnell and everything being said would still be true.

There are several Cooke's running around in this league and I'm not a big fan of that type of player, problem is, you can't really argue their effectiveness.

I was reading this same story from a different source and this comment from Asham caught my attention:

Usually if you bite somebody you stick up for yourself and you fight the guy.

Usually? Really, usually? Like this happens regularly? For the record, I have no doubt that both biting incidents occured, but I didn't think it was a normal occurence, maybe I'm wrong.

This.

Another thing that ruins hockey.

it doesn't need to "go" per se, it needs to go back to what it was when it was created just an additional 2 minute penalty when a player clearly makes a guy fight when he doesn't want to and needs to ONLY be handed out when it REALLY fits - the automatic suspension in the last minute, blah, blah, blah, etc - THAT needs to go...

s*** happens. It's a tough game. Asham should worry about his s***ty club instead of starting drama.

End of story right there.
