Are we ever going to wear these as a 3rd jersey or alternate?

It certainly would be an interesting idea, but I think simple tradition will dictate that the Red Wings do not. Let's face it, the 3rd jersey is a money grab. No team actually needs a 3rd jersey, but it bumps up the team profits a little bit. I doubt that the Wings are having trouble selling merchandise, but with the way the economy is they might and a 3rd jersey wouldn't sell all that great. There is one important fact that I believe will keep the Wings from adopting a 3rd jersey, it's the Winged Wheel for f***'s sake. Need I say any more?

See what I had in mind was the Winter Classic jerseys other than the WC game itself we wore them at the end of the season, so I was wondering if we may see them again. They are great jerseys.

The Wings wore them twice during the 2008-2009 season. Once during the WC and the other time at home so that the hometown fans got to see the jerseys.

I still think Winter Classic jerseys are great sellers. Look in the crowd next time you watch a game, so many people are wearing them. I don't think they need to wear them to sell them. I like that they only have 2 jerseys they wear.

I love mine because it's so cool and different. If the Wings started wearing them more often it would take away from that. And then it would be just another jersey to me and that would kind of ruin it.

That's the point I was going to make. In its current state it's a special jersey that represents a special game and I think that's why so many people love them.

Pretty sure Holland has stated he doesn't like messing with the rotation of the jerseys. With some other clubs its ridiculous, they have 4 or 5 jerseyes, most of them hideous.

I love the WC logo, the Wings hat I wear every day has this logo, which is great because only the true hockey fans recognize it. Living in Chicago, I got a little tired of hearing DETROIT SUCKS every time I wore my other Wings hat. Luckily most Hawks fans in Chicago weren't fans until well after last year's WC so they have no idea what the red D stands for.

I don't even know that they're selling them anymore; I know for sure that they stopped making the authentic WC jerseys.

Does anyone know if Reebok still makes the premier to supply to places like SportsK? It would make sense (since they didn't even make authentics for this year's WC) if they still made the WC replicas, since I see so many.

Yeah, there has been plenty of times where they said that there will not be a regular 3rd jersey because Mr Ilitch wants to keep the traditional logo intact and the only one being used. He must own full rights to the Wing Wheel, everyone here owes him $100 for every one that shows up in your avatars and sigs

I would rather not use them as third jerseys and only use them on special occasions, like the Winter Classic.

I'd still like for the NHL to sell them as third jerseys, though.
