They interview them and then give them a jersey of their favorite player. My guess is they said Howard was their fav and then ripped into Ozzie. tonyfranks16 0 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 i think what the guy meant, was "im glad we have a goalie who can steal games". lets be honest, we haven't a had a game stealer in 2 decades. we've had very good, great goalies, but it seems like its been a long time since we've seen a 48 shots against win and a 50 shots against win. i am an ozzie fan. but more so i am a Wings fan. Jimmy's getting it done. he gets the starts. and when ozzie ******* and moans, i lose respect for him, so he may as well get the boooo's until he puts the frown upside down and wins a game. They haven't needed a goalie to steal games by and large either. It's good that they won last night, but it's profoundly bad that they gave up that many shots. I'm thrilled that Howard is playing well so that the future seems a bit more clear in goal now. But let's not so quickly forget about Ozzie's performance in the playoffs last freakin' year and the fact that Howard has next to no playoff experience. I thought it was profoundly cool that the fans responded the way that they did last night. Makes me proud to be a Wings fan. Glad everyone boo'd him And since they interview the STH of the game during a tv timeout, you'd only be able to see it if someone was using a camera phone or video camera when he said it. Yes, because before Howard came around, the likes of Osgood, Cujo, and Hasek never stole us games right? A goalie doesn't need to face some 40 odd shots in order for it considered to be a game stealer. There have been plenty of nights for Ozzie, Hasek, Cujo, even Legace where they've faced less shots and still stole the game. Bottom line is Osgood has stolen plenty of games. I'm a huge Ozzie fan, but I am loving what Howard is showing us. Good for the fans for sticking up for Ozzie. Had the fan said that Ozzie isn't doing well right now, I would have thought it low-class to say it in that setting, but to say that the team hasn't had a good goalie (or whatever he said) in a while, which puts Ozzie's past performance down, is totally wrong. We had this guy named Dominik Hasek. He was a little bit of an expert on the subject. I don't care if people don't remember some of our goalies stealing games, because that doesn't mean it didn't happen it just means your memory sucks. Hasek stole some serious games in 02. He just gets overshadowed by the sheer awesomeness of that 02 unit but to me, he was our Conn Smythe winner. Nick was amazing but Dom was clutch on another level.
