Hiller stays a Duck, what about Gigeure now?

Ducks locked up Jonas Hiller for 4 years about 18 Millions. I can remember Gigeure saying something like "if he stays, i'will go". Is there a trade in sight?

Oh, and I am SURE that Giggy is gone now. Why would any team spend over $10 million in two goalies, but capable of being #1 guys??

My money is on Philly.

Philly has plenty of chippy bastards they could send the other way, that would fit right in on the Ducks team.

Maybe Gigeure and a 1st for Carter.

edit: Anaheim would probably have to offer a top prospect like Sbisa or Gardiner as well.

Something centered around Giggy to Toronto and Toskala to Ducks? Obviously, there's probably going to be other assets moving there.

Edit: Actually, I see no reason why Ducks don't wait til the offseason for this. Vesa card is off the books for Toronto, so I dunno.. maybe something involving Finger and a prospect or roster player for Giggy and a pick?

If they were to trade Toskala for Giguerre straight up, it would actually work out to the Ducks favor, as not only is Toskala's cap hit much lower (4 mil as opposed to 6 mil) and Toskala is a UFA at the end of the season, whereas Giggy has one year left at that price tag.

It would allow the Ducks to be buyers at the trade deadline as it would free up 2 million in cap space (I'm not a capologist, so I apologize if my math is not exact) to spend in other areas, and they have been surging lately so they might be thinking playoff run by that point.

It would help the Leafs as they would gain a Stanley Cup champion goaltender and Conn Smythe winner who is by most accounts still in his prime, giving them a clear number one (no offense to Gustavsson).

Now if it was a multi-player deal, then maybe it swings to one team's advantage, but Giguere for Toskala straight up is a win-win situation for both teams.

That being said, I could really care less where he goes as long as it is East, don't want another Western team picking up a goalie like Giggy who will have a major chip on his shoulder and something to prove.

Makes sense for Jiggy since Toronto has a children's hospital that can help treat his kid.

I hate Burke, so yes, let him blindly trade for that useless statue. He hasn't been worth a s*** since 04. Yes, I know they won in 07 (when they shouldn't have even gotten past us) but the guy has been ap roduct of great defenses ever since he drank too much of the Allaire kool-aid and became the immobile, useless michelin man we all know today.

Let him go to Toronto. It's been a ball watching Burke make an ass out of himself. Oh Mr. high and holy savior GM, save us from mediocrity! Please, drive us even lower in the standings by hiring one of the worst coaches in hockey and please, only make one decent transaction in the first year! This can't fail!

Overrated GM. Overrated coach. Overrated goalie? Why the hell not? They're all just stickin around to get a pay check and piss off, not like they're actually any good and plan on winning.

And if anyone wants him in Detroit, promise me you'll never apply for GM of the Red Wings anytime soon. Osgood hasn't been great lately but at least we're not paying him $6 million to blow chunks.
