wingsdiehard13 33 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 Sergei Kolosov will play for Belarus. Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Sergei Kolosov will play for Belarus at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. Kolosov, who was not named to Belarus’ provisional Olympic roster in December, will depart Grand Rapids on Sunday to join his Belarusian teammates at a training camp in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Pretty neat that a Griffin gets to play in the Olympics.

McAwesome 754 Report post Posted February 5, 2010 (edited) Hey look at it this way, one of our prospects gets experience playing against NHL-caliber players without having to get called up from Grand Rapids. It's a good thing for him (unless he gets hurt), and it's got to be a great honor to play for your country in the Olympics, even if your team stands a good chance of being shut out of every game. Speaking of Belarus, aside from the Kostytsin brothers, do they have any other NHLers in their lineup? Edit: Grabovski and Salei, plus a couple of other AHL prospects. Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 6, 2010 Great for Kolosov, very interesting prospect. Terrific size, can skate, can dish out a hit and always makes the right pass.
