Mule v. Sveden

It is turning ugly. The Svedes made a mistake, huge mistake, and are pointing their fingers our way. Doc Clancy has performed hundreds of these surgeries with a 3 month turn around yet the Svedes are blaming our organization for bringing Mule back too soon because they omited him from their Olympic roster because of his injury. I think they should man up and admit their mistake. I wonder if there are any counterpoints out there.

Sweden doesn't sign his paycheck. We do. We're the Red Wings and we've shown enough that we're strictly into doing what's best for our team and players, and that we're cautious and take care of our boys. We feel it's ok to bring him back now. What anyone else thinks means nothing.

If they don't like it, well, tough s***. Our decision making didn't cause Sammy to tell us to go screw ourselves.

We're not in the business of pleasing some schmuck who wanted Franzen on his roster.

LOL. We don't do s***. The organization around the Swedish Olympic team seems to be imploding. First the Samuelsson-incident and now, and especially, this. Tbh I really don't care much whether he plays for Sweden this year or not, as long as it doesn't screw with his recovery and form when with Detroit.

Fill me in on the Sami situation, I don't recall hearing about this one.

The Swedish team blows this Olympics, compared to last time. Alot of it is due to poor roster choices. Theres no excuse for that! I hope Team USA takes them out for the Bronze.

Franzen should be at the Olympics. I remember multiple news articles around November that Franzen COULD POSSIBLY be back right after Christmas. They should of named him as an alternate. Can't they? Didn't they? Why wouldn't they? Because I guarantee he would play. Think about it. 2 weeks of hockey to warm up for down the stretch. After those 2 weeks he would be easily ready for full-time duty. Maybe he should wait until after the Olympics? Rushing him back then giving him a 2 week break isn't going to be the best way to get ready, if he doesn't play in the Olympics anyways.

And check out the standings. At this point, Detroit is basically a 3 game losing streak away from almost PROBABLE elimination. Detroit is on thin thin ice right now standings wise. Calgary WILL make the play-offs, that should never of been doubted. We need to catch LA or Nashville. And the way their playing, we need to be lights out.

Will Franzen help? If he's ready. And I don't think he'll be ready if we play him a few games then give him a 2 week break. The Olympics would be a perfect conditioning stint.
