2/13 GDT: Senators 1 at Red Wings 4

Nice win, solid effort all around. Except for the Big Swedish Meatball, the whole team played very well.

It's hard to believe, but the player who seems to have the biggest impact on the style of hockey this team plays is Kronwall. When he's not on the ice, they play a conservative, dump and chase game; when he plays, they're much more like the "old" Red Wings.

I'm very impressed by the whole game tonight. It never really looked in doubt even when they scored.

A solid effort on both sides of the ice and for once it looked like every player came to play.

Unfortunately, we'll probably not gain any ground tonight, since other teams win when we win and lose when we lose.

Still, it may be the start of a good winning streak. Let's hope our guys stay healthy during the Olympics.

I for one could use the Olympic break with how much stress this team has given me the last few weeks.

Winning is a start though. If they can pull a nice winning streak after the break, they will not have to rely on other teams as much. 6-8th place are still very much up for grabs and as long as they win they won't have to rely too much on other teams.

Of all the line combos that get posted on LGW (and there's millions!) I don't remember seeing anyone put Williams on the top line.

They looked solid all game long. If they can play that way they won't lose much the rest of the season. I won't be getting my hopes up until they put at least 3 wins together.
