The original airing of the 1980's USA vs Russia game is goign to be aired. Im trying to find out the details but I'm having a little trouble so if anybody has any details it would be greatly appreciated.

on the side note I think this is pretty cool being the fact that I have never seen the entire original footage...

This is the only classic game I can find that is on today: Classic Hockey:1996: U.S. vs. Canada - 1996: U.S. vs. Canada

Dude, that was the best hockey I've ever seen.

Two Hall of Fame rosters going at each other. Unlike most international play, this was as physical as you'll ever see a hockey series. Lindros was a beast in that series, and I can't wait to watch it.

As for 1980, I get tired of hearing about that over and over. It was a fluke win and it's been beaten like a dead horse.

Those guys have been interviewed a hundred times every year about that. What has really changed that we need to hear another interview of it?

An American team made up of amateur and collegiate players beat the Soviets, THAN the Finns. 2 fluke wins? I think not. They walked all over every other team they played, except Sweden. That team was special, nothing like it will ever happen again.

Maybe, but I'm just tired of constantly hearing about it. There have been other important moments in hockey history that don't get very much recognition.

Instead of covering the current American team, NBC feels like it has to talk about the 1980 team again. No wonder no one in America knows anything about hockey nowadays. NBC has done a poor job of marketing its own country's team. The other American athletes have been talked about at nausea, such as that Lindsey Vonn chick, or that Apollo Ono guy, or that red headed pot smoker dude. As for American hockey coverage. Well, let's talk about 1980.

The 1980 US vs. USSR was the biggest sports upset in history. This would be the equivalent of a American Football match, USA vs. Canada. The USA roster is made up of an all star NFL roster, and the Canadiens are amateur college football players.

I'd say it's quite the story, and upset.

That's a Pretty good point. I've heard More about Jim craig, Mike Eurizione and Mark Johnson than I've heard about Ryan Miller, Patrick Kane and Zach Parise.

Not only that, but what can they ask these players they haven't already asked them.

"Hey Eruzione. How did it feel to score that go-ahead goal?"

Cover your current American team NBC. Not the 1980 team.
