Almost all mass produced beer is piss, unless of course you are belgian. The Belgians know how to mass produce beer! Don't tell me about beer, son:) I know all too well the talent of the Trappist Monks! What greater life could a man lead than serving his Lord and making the world's greatest beer? I mean, there isn't a ton of difference between a Heinekin, Becks, Löwenbräu, Bitburger or a Grolsch. It may be different on tap, but thats a rarity. I do enjoy a Hackor Pschor on occasion though. Now Belgium though, that place is briming with excellent beer! From the excellent and my personal favorite tapist beer Chimay Red to the mass market but oh so wonderful Hoegarrden. That said, and I am sure you know this already, if you are a fan of the lords brews, there is a fine brewery in Quebec by the name of Unibroue who make some of the best beers, not just in North America, but the entire world. La Fin du Monde, Maudite, Tois Pistoles, the list goes on and on.. Plus a wonderful Belgian Wit Blanche du Chambly, that truly is the definition of great beer! I am not sure if I tried it, I had a Czeck friend that introduced me to about every beer they make... pretty much in the same day, so the memories are all at bit blurred. If any of you ever get your hands on this then you gotta get it. Though, I still think American micro-breweries make the best beer. Bells, Founders, Kuhnhen are all great local breweries. It's maybe half that in Sweden, and one tenth of that in Eastern Europe. Of course, to drink it regularly at that price you would have to live in Eastern Europe.
