Three of Four Officials for USA/Canada Game From Canada

Wow. All I did was make a post about how in Olympics past they would try and get officials from other countries, to make things more neutral. It was not really intended as a whine or complaint.

Nice to see you are already looking for excuses .The refs wont be the reason Canada wins Gold !!!!!!!! Dont wine and look for Excuses be happy with your silver .

Kinda like how the USA only beat Canada last week because of a few lucky deflections and some lucky saves from Miller? Canada is the excuse king of the world when they lose in hockey. Kettle, meet pot.

That'll begin tomorrow after Canada loses. Face it Canada, no matter what, you'll always be the 51st State...

You had your chance in 1812.

From Toronto Star :

...

Veteran NHL referee Bill McCreary will be working his third Olympics. He's the most experienced of the 14 referees (including six Canadians and seven from the NHL) and 14 linesmen (four Canadians and six from the NHL). It's especially poignant because he's retiring this season.

As noted in an above post, it was a Canadian that brought up the topic of winning as related to medal counts. So in fact, it was a Canadian rubbing winning in the face of the Americans.

Wrong. This is what started the bickering back and forth.

This thread is freaking hilarious. It's especially rich listening to Canadians spewing nonsense about all the "advantages" US athletes supposedly have (more $, bigger pool of talent with the larger population, etc.). These would be the same underprivileged Olympic hosts who, prior to the games, restricted use of the world's fastest luge track for training by non-Canadian athletes in a screwball attempt to grab some kind of "home track" advantage. Query whether the poor, disadvantaged Canadian hosts indulged their inferiority complex at the expense of a luger from Georgia's life.

Wrong. This thread was just stating a fact, and immediately a Canadian poster came on with this:

^This is what started the animosity.

Seeing how one was an actual opinion based comment towards the OP and the other was just obvious trolling and blowing the American horn while putting down Canada, I choose to stick with my original opinion.

Never thought a hockey game could bring out the worst in people. There's so much arrogance all around.

No s***. I'm contemplating not participating in the GDT for the game this afternoon if this is the garbage I can look forward to reading.

Actually pretty disappointed by some posters on this site. I can't believe some of the bashing going on here on both sides. Appalling and you should all be ashamed of yourselves. You are an embarrassment to your countries and wings fans everywhere. CANADA USA BEST HOCKEY POWERS ON EARTH. Lets enjoy a great game

Wrong. This is what started the bickering back and forth.

How does that post have anything do to with winning or medals? Oh, that's right. It doesn't. Try again.

As long as McCreary is officiating, the reffing will be fine.

The best part about him and O'Hallaran reffing is it won't be a penalty-filled game. The majority will be 5-on-5 play. Nothing to be concerned about, officiating-wise.

Agreed. While O'Halloran is notorious for making horrendous goalie interference calls, for the most part he calls a tight game. Same goes for McCreary.
