Grateful Gadsby 10 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 (edited) Ok, then going by your theory and the fact you have 10 times as many people as us I would`ve hoped that you would`ve gotten a few more medals. THe USA the best country in the world spends more money on their athletes than any other country, s*** most of your athletes don`t even have to work, they freeload off your tax money so they can train all year long and then they don`t even win that many golds. But I mean if you like to settle for 2nd or 3rd thats your call. 100% Pure Canadian Bulls***. The USOC doled out $58.2 million over four years to the governing bodies of the individual sports, which is half of what Canada spent. (Source: today's Wall Street Journal, Page W12; Article) Grab a few facts next time before showing up here and making yourself look like a complete idiot. LeftWinger 5,153 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 Just don't understand it? Why the hell would you root for the Wings? I could understand if you lived in the USA before moving to canada or something like that. But for someone so proud of your country ,that fact that you root for an American owned, run team seems really odd. Maybe it makes sense somehow eh? If I didn't root for the Wings I can sure as hell say I'd never root for a foreign team, even if all mine sucked. Not to mention that the player he grew up loving that made him a Wings fan (Steve Yzerman) also is an American Citizen. Geez, how's that feel? Stevie obviously would rather be an American, now what are you gonna do puckbags?

Crashnburnluder 385 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 Im still looking for all the complaints you guys are talking about...??? only complaint I have heard is how horrible Dan O"Hallaran is and I hope we can all agree that he is a brutal ref as wings fans.... Because we realize that our identify and core isn't defined by something so simple as our choice of sports teams, or how loudly we yell our national anthem, or how large the flag we wave is. More than anything, our definition as a people is that we don't fear the success of others nor fail to acknowledge the accomplishment and good traits of our friends and neighbors. That we don't need to define our successes off the failures of our peers. In a nutshell, I root for who the f*** I want to root for because I want to ******* root for them and if you don't like it, I don't give a f***, because I am Canadian. So, bite me. jeff48109 474 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 i am surprised they didn't pick refs from other countries, just to avoid any accusation of biased officiating. this may work against Canada because the refs may not call a penalty on the US... or maybe they won't call anything lol
titanium2 867 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 3 out of 4 refs are Canadian which translates to excuses being made by Americans about losing before the game even starts. Oh it started long before that. What about the "selling of Sidney Crosby as the greatest player ever" idea? That's always a prominent one.

clutchngrab 12 Report post Posted February 28, 2010 And Speedskating, Bobsleigh, Skeleton, Hockey, Snowboarding, Skiing, Figure Skating. Thats all cool. I'm happy for Canada and the US as far as medal performances go. Here's an interesting link to put a little historical context around this. Note how the eastern bloc pretty much kicked ass in the post war period. http://www.databaseolympics.com/

Here's an interesting link to put a little historical context around this. Note how the eastern bloc pretty much kicked ass in the post war period. http://www.databaseolympics.com/ Frankly, its pretty hard to judge the Olympics with any sort of historical context, as the shape of the world has changed so staggeringly much. I mean, even the breakup of Yugoslavia and Czechoslovakia have had a staggering effect on the world stage, to say nothing of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Besides, the world should be praising Norway if anyone. I mean, with their 22 medal wins, that means like 23% of the Norse are now Olympic medalists! Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted February 28, 2010 (edited) The existence of the thread is a whine. But meh, if you want to start stacking up excuses thats fine by us. One person starts a thread where not one Team USA fan claims this will affect the game and that somehow equates to everyone stacking up excuses. That's rich. Just how delusional are you? The OP may be whining but no one else has. Edited February 28, 2010 by Howard He Do It?!

EDIT: With your edit recognizing the OP being a whine invalidates the entire conversation, at least so far as I am involved. Gibberish? Wow. You really evade when you are completely wrong. One post in this entire 3 page thread can be construed as some resemblance of a whine. You'd think it was 3 pages of how Team USA is going to get screwed over by these Canadian refs if you listened to the Canadian posters in here. AKA: I'm so wrong that I am going to run away now. Saying the OP may be a whine, which it really isn't, is now a validation that it is a whine? Again, just how delusional are you? Edited February 28, 2010 by Howard He Do It?!
