titanium2 867 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 As far as manipulation goes Scotty is the master. I wouldn't be surprised if he said that just to fire up the Hawks' back end.

skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 (edited) Why did he join the hawks anyways what a traitor.. how many years was he with detroit.. 10? It was my understanding that he did so, so he could work with his son, who was already part of the Blackhawks organization. I might be wrong though. Guest Hatethedrake! Report post Posted April 8, 2010 http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/hockey/comments/bowman_says_watch_out_for_the_red_wings/ Bowman is correct in what he says. Lidstrom and Rafalski are both very valuable in all 3 zones. I hope Nick's giveaway last night is not sign of him being tired. What worries me the most about the Red Wings this season is the number of giveaways each game. I have never seen a Red Wings team surrender the puck so easily. We all know Bertuzzi will give it away at least once each time he is on the ice. But even Datsyuk and Zetterberg are giving the puck away more. Babcock keeps saying the team need to clean things up defensively. I've seen spurts of that but the problems are still there. It seems each time we do give the puck away it ends up in the net. Ericsson has really struggled in this area. They need to keep it simple in the playoffs and not try and be so fancy with the puck especially in the neutral zone. TheDetroitRedWings 286 Report post Posted April 8, 2010 boman may fear the wings in the playoffs but i fear the bowmans all the time. Correction. Bowman singular, not plural. His son has done nothing compared to Scotty. At least nothing to be feared. Now Scotty on the other hand... He could come back to coaching, even at his age, and still strike fear into the hearts of the opponents.

That goes from the top pairing down to the third pairing and from the top line down to the fourth line. The single most important aspect of puck possession that this team needs to fix is turn-overs. If they can't hold onto the puck and manage it efficiently they're toast in the playoffs. Games like last night won't fly in the post-season.

Especially if we draw out against Chicago in the 1st round. They're gonna be so fired up to get a piece of us that the Wings are gonna have to be really careful and manage the game well.
