F2B&G 15 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) As a fan of both NCAA hockey and the Wings, I hope Elliott stones the Pens. ...realistically though, I'd say Pens in 6. Ottawa will steal a game or two because Fleury, Stanley Cup Champion goalie though he may be, is overrated. Edited April 11, 2010 by F2B&G
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Ovechkin is a machine, no one can argue with that. Just sayin, Lots of regular season points/wins won't win you a cup and Im yet to be convinced this caps team will win it all this year. I'd happily eat my words though Ovi is a proven performer in the post season. Green on the other hand was terrible during their run last season.
crotty99 302 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Green on the other hand was terrible during their run last season. Yes, its things like that which make me doubt the Caps chances. You can't have your big D-men playing like ass. If the Caps can find a replacement D he should consider playing forward haha.
xtrememachine1 795 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 I know a lot of people on this board hate the Pens, but I would rather see them get to the Finals again, so we can stomp a mudhole in them and retake the Cup.
Firehawk 305 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Pens in 5 unfortunately. Hopefully nobody knocks out the big boys so that the Pens can get knocked out in round 2 or 3. I think this year if the Caps run into the Pens, it'll be a different outcome.
Travis 576 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 We can all agree that what the Senators need to do is find a way to obtain Evander Kane some point within the next 4 days. Make it happen, Bryan!
8 Legged RedWing 367 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Elliot stands on his head. Sens in 7. Heard it here second. Third In all seriousness though, this has the potential to be a long series if the Sens show up and play to their potential. I know the Pens will...
Bannedforlife 403 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 This! It's funny how many people forget Fleury's earlier play after he played amazing in games 6 and 7. Yeah he deserves credit for that (and he got it-- it's a cool ring covered in diamonds), but that doesn't mean he's immune to criticism for s***ting the bed on other occasions. For example-- Crosby had one point in elimination games at the Olympics. He scored the OT winner but he didn't help them enough on the way there. He should've been Canada's mvp but he wasn't even their best forward. Iginla was infinitely more important to our gold because he showed up for all of the elimination games. And before Carman screams "BUT HE SCORED THE GOLDEN GOAL!". So did McCarty-- does that mean he was the Wings' MVP that year? The list of guys who scored championship winning goals is long and doesn't necessarily include all of the best players on those teams. Max Talbot anyone? 2guns 10 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Also, The Caps are a better team this year, they still suck the big one in defensive play, but they are tighter in general. I think the Pens look tired and looser than they were last year. I will say that Cindy looks better, even if he's still a turdburgler. These are my observations, I don't care about stats. The list of guys who scored championship winning goals is long and doesn't necessarily include all of the best players on those teams. You act like Crosby just scored one goal and that was it. He was tied for second on the team in points along with scoring one of the most important goals in the history of hockey. And saying Iginla was better is just plain wrong, Toews was team Canada's best player during the tournament. Give the kid some credit Drake, trying to talk down what he has done by the age of 22 is just going to be a losing effort. Yzerman's quote. "His game has evolved in every year. He's a complete player, much like Michael Jordan in basketball. Every year, they tried to fine something wrong with his game, and he just kept getting better and better," said Yzerman."You could say he's our top player, and that's no overstating it." 2guns 10 Report post Posted April 11, 2010 Yep, Cindy is a great player now, but his behavior is still childish and that will always stick to him and make him look less than what he is. Argue that all you want, it's not going to ever be a winning point until he grows up. I hate what buttman and his cronies have turned a ultra caliber player into. I feel sorry for the little turdburgler actually.

The only time that Crosby has been really shut down in the playoffs is against the Wings. That's one that even you can't deny Carman.
