brett 1,029 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 Anyone else think this years playoff schedule has sucked? I mean first the wings play 7 games and get one day off before their next game. Hawks and Sharks have 5 days off before their next game and the Habs and Flyers only have 1 or 2? Now in the finals they have 2 games on a night. I think they should be spaced out so one game is one day and the next is the next day so hockey fans can watch both games. I cant remember if its always been like this but its standing out this year. b.shanafan14 733 Report post Posted May 20, 2010 I agree. It also has a lot to do with the scheduling of the arenas like HP Pavilion and United Center that do a lot of events. The concerts in San Jose screwed over the Wings in the first game with the quick turnaround. I do agree, this two games at practically the same time then no hockey the next day BS is pretty lame. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 (edited) You think that's bad, you should see the NBA schedule. Imbecile "David Stern" is giving teams three days off in between games 2 and 3 of just about every series. Edited May 21, 2010 by GMRwings1983
Travis 576 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 You think that's bad, you should see the NBA schedule. Imbecile "David Stern" is giving teams three days off in between games 2 and 3 of just about every series. I have absolutely no idea why Stern's name is in quotations here. The NBA as a league is a joke, anyhow. With all the bickering, rule bending, and talk in circles. I honestly have a hard time understanding how someone finds basketball interesting. I was thinking about the NHL thing the other day. They touched on the scheduling miss cues on Power Play while Esposito was on the show. Obviously, a lot of it comes down to scheduling at these arenas, but it seems almost criminal to play the Eastern and Western Conference Final games on the same night when they should be alternating. They also went onto say that there will likely be another back-to-back set of games in the Stanley Cup Final this year. Esposito said it doesn't matter. He said these guys should be capable of playing 4 games in 6 days and that they would play back-to-back all the time in his day, so-to-speak. At least we know we can put the tinfoil hats away. It's not just us getting hosed on the schedules!
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 21, 2010 Montreal and Philly both played in 7 game series. Chicago and San Jose finished their respective series quicker....who should get more days off? I don't see the problem. I was a little upset with the fact that had both series now being played on the same night, but I believe it is now staggered.
