DaWingsin071 4 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Ok I know there are other threads on this topic but I just read on Eklund "All this while a few rumors are surfacing that Kovalchuk may indeed take a one year deal in Detroit or Philly". Let me know what people think. Not sure we have the money but who knows. 1 HankthaTank reacted to this

miller76 463 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Eklund isn't exactly the most reliable source btw. So you lose a lot of credibility when using him as a source. The likihood of Kovi being a Wing is a stretch. No thanks. I like the team we got this year. 1 WizardOfOz30 reacted to this
Canadian_Yzerman_Fan 7 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Yeah I just read that too. This guy is so far out of touch with anything going on with the Red Wings. Yesterday he also said that Red Wings fans must be crushed that Lebda is now a Leaf. lol As said above, he would have to play for under $2M and that will so obviously NEVER happen. This reminds me of Eklund's reported rumor a few months ago that was a straight up Zetterberg for Luongo
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Does anyone really have "credibility" on here. We are armchair gm's that post while at work or whatever it may be that we do. I wouldn't really worry where someone gets their sources for roster moves in the offseason. That said, hell no is Kovie coming here. The guy is a huuuuuge salary cap hit to whomever and he doesn't even want to play in the West so this is a sunken ship. And negged because someone feels they are "credible" hahaha. Octopus's Garden 147 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Someone named Jimmy Murphy just tweeted that the Wings have offered one-year and $8.5 million. How? He does not explain. Apparently, they're trading everyone. Stupid link
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Why isn't NHL network covering the Kovie contract talks as much as ESPN is covering the Lebron circus? I seriously think the NBA will just run itself into the ground with this. Biggest joke ever. And the sheep will flock too. Everyone here today is just Lebron obsessed as if it really matters where the dude goes. 1 8 Legged RedWing reacted to this

Trapt1307 81 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 Yeah, the only way this is even remotely possible is if they already have a trade worked out sending Rafalski out of town. Doesn't he have a NTC?

HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 8, 2010 (edited) Love Raffi but in NHL '10 I had a choice of keeping Rafalski or dropping him. It's amazing how even in a game what the possibilities were once I unloaded that 6 mill lol. Just sayin'.... I must have pissed in someone's "Chelios" today... My internet rep is rapidly declining due to my trades in a video game...
