Guest EZBAKETHAGANGSTA Report post Posted July 22, 2010 Macarthur at 2.4 million would not have been THAT much worse then the first year of Filppula's contract at 3 million. I know the deal was made for his potential, and next season it will probably be a steal, but just saying.
HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 Come on guys. After the Rangers (I know I know) plucked Boogey for what they did, you should have known that the wallets were opening up.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted July 22, 2010 As much as I would've liked to see Boogaard here,no fourth liner is worth a cent more than $1 million. That's just absurd.I heard he got an even LARGER offer from Edmonton before he signed in New York.Just ridiculous. An goon is never (in my mind) worth $1 Million or more.Just boggles my mind. cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 From Toronto Star : The Maple Leafs have bolstered their offence by signing unrestricted free agent forward Clarke MacArthur to a one-year contract.... ...He became available when Atlanta walked away from the $2.4 million (U.S.) he was awarded in arbitration. It’s believed his one-year deal with the Leafs will pay him $1.1 million. ...
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 That's actually a good move for Burke. 1.1 for a young 15+ goal scorer cant hurt.
GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted August 28, 2010 Atlanta's situation is interesting. Its a little early to predict what their lineup may look like, but I'm thinking: Peverley-Antropov-? ?-E.Kane-? ?-Slater-? Boulton-Thorburn-? Enstrom-Hainsey Bogosian-? Valabik-? With Eager and Ladd set to file for arbitration, you never know what they will be awarded.I'm not sure what Todd White's status is.Anyone think Patrice Cormier (Yes,that guy) has a chance at cracking a roster spot?Is Byfuglien gonna be there next year.I think he's an RFA and I haven't heard much about him lately. Amazing what a joke that franchise has been since entering the NHL. Aside from Bettman, does anyone think hockey has succeeded in Atlanta? As much as I would've liked to see Boogaard here,no fourth liner is worth a cent more than $1 million. That's just absurd.I heard he got an even LARGER offer from Edmonton before he signed in New York.Just ridiculous. An goon is never (in my mind) worth $1 Million or more.Just boggles my mind. Isn't Draper a 4th liner?
Doggy 130 Report post Posted August 29, 2010 I doubt the NHL will again request the services of MacArthur's arbitrator. This award basically forced the Thrashers to lose a useful, young player.

Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted August 29, 2010 more like the cubs I'd say Montreal is the Yankees of Baseball. Toronto is the cubs. 102 years for the cubs, 43 for the Leafs, and now (thanks to the Blackhawks win) the longest drought in the NHL.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted August 31, 2010 Burke will probably look for one more bottom 6 guy, then he'll call it an offseason.
