newfy 695 Report post Posted August 9, 2010 USA has a fairly deep team this year at forward, but if Callahan continues to progress the way he has does anyone think he has a shot at making the USA in a 4th line grinding role?
Shaman 713 Report post Posted August 9, 2010 (edited) USA has a fairly deep team this year at forward, but if Callahan continues to progress the way he has does anyone think he has a shot at making the USA in a 4th line grinding role? Ever watch the World Juniors? Unless he puts up a lot of points I don't see it, International teams are more with the countries top scoring talent on forward not many future role players make it on the team. (Please bring up Evander Kane, because it was his 96 points on the WHL not his fighting that got him onto the team) Edited August 9, 2010 by Shaman464
toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted August 9, 2010 A player of his caliber wouldn't have a shot with Team Canada, but I'm not as familar with the US team.

That along with his toughness could get him a spot on the team. Yes I have seen the world juniors believe it or not and I know its good players that go. And do you know anything about Kane? He next to never fights he is a goal scorer and I'm obviously not to dumb to see that...

As for Callahan he really needs to put up some high point totals, as you mentioned, around a point per game if not more to make his case. Its possible, but USA is pretty deep this year.
