What is Peca's deal with Jay-Bo?

He's not overly physical, and was supposed to be an offensive defenseman that didn't produce offensively last year in Calgary.

He has great size and great skating ability, and that's what's frustrating he's pretty inconsistent.

Peca's right. He's not a player you label as difficult to play against. While his offense is very solid, it's not high end or dominating enough to pressure the other team. He's neither got enough grit nor good enough positional defense to become a frustration there. While a solid d-man, he's just not the sort of guy players fear going up against. He's been all future talent since he entered the league and he needs to start making a more solid impact in some way or another or that contract is going to start looking really bad,

he is doing what analysts get paid to do; give an opinion. as others have said, bouwemeesters bad year last year leaves him open to this criticism. heck, once he signed that huge deal, he had to know that he was going to catch a lot of flack unless he started winning norris trophies. i think i read he was the 3rd highest paid dman last year. he certainly was nowhere near the 3rd best in the league.

calgary fans seem to be the only ones that actually have a problem with it. and i guess i can understand being defensive about one of your players. unfortunately, the only defense anyone has is that peca is unqualified to say what he said; as if any of us message board badasses are any more qualified than peca?
