The San Jose Sharks have named Joe Thornton as the eighth full time captain in club history. Todd McLellan made the announcement following Thursday’s practice at the Globe Arena in Stockholm.

Not sure how I feel about this move. Could be great, could be a disaster.

Yeah, you could tell by the way Thornton was smiling that those couple gloved punches Franzen and Homer threw really scared him.

Thornton is great in the playoffs when his team has a 5 on 3 PP. Otherwise he's useless. Great choice Sharks.
