Come playoffs, I'd been with my unit for nearly a year, so they just knew. They didn't even bother anymore.

In the morning at formations they do accountability. I wasn't there EVER, during playoff games, but I had enough friends to cover for me. It got to the point where I would just flat out let them know one day, that I wouldn't be in until after the game the next day, and while I won't say everyone was exactly "cool" with that....enough people were to let me get away with it.

It was a LOT harder to play off being sober, when I was drinking beer at 6am for the game, than had to go into work around 9 lol.

That one was virtually given to him, so I wouldn't really call it a genuine step towards redemption. Almost any other player on the team would have had the speed to pick it up earlier, and this would have given that player a genuine breakaway.
