Combine that 3.5+ with the LTIR cushion they receive from the time Savard already missed and that may be the only move they need to make... I wonder if they took a bath on this one, I'll be real interested to see what's coming back the other way...

I'm sure they did. This puts an end to the headaches they've had leading up to this point.

i believe LA needed a winger, and boston needed to clear space

probably a good trade for both teams

There;s no such thing as a LTIR cushion dude.

Here we go with this again... must we really go down the daily cap hit value road again and what is absorbed since he's already missed a quarter of the season?

I didn't say they got extra cap space at years end, I merely said the cushion - ie. in the interim.

Sorry. It's just that your post didn't make any sense.

So, at least for now, Sturm stays put.

Even as he worked to get himself back into game shape following a serious knee injury, forward Marco Sturm realized he might be rehabbing his way onto another team, given the Boston Bruins' salary-cap woes.

It was reported earlier Thursday that Sturm was dealt to the Los Angeles Kings, but sources on both teams told ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun on Thursday evening that there is "no deal."
