all right, I'm off to watch the Kings game. They've had some trouble scoring goals too, but at least when they're not scoring they still hit people and fight.

For real.

The only thing worse than sucking, is sucking and showing no emotion about it. But hey, if the players dont care ther're losing then I won't.

You know commodore, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you want Brad McCrimmon fired.

ReallyFireMcCrimmon? Not sure Yambag where you're Babcock'sHair you're seeing FeedTheMule that there Knob. Just my average BERNIE! recap of a Wings Conkblock game. Just nothing LogoHunter out of the ordinary DrunkEdi for it McGoo.

Wow...so frustrating. They are doing so many things wrong, and have been doing them all season. I'm trying to look at this in a calm way. We can see what they are doing wrong, but it's not so clear what you can do about it. They're just not thinking. They're making stupid passes and stupid plays, and that's not something easily fixed. Babcock can run passing drills until they pass out, but it won't make them stop taking the stupid passes. They can take shooting drills all they want but it won't make them suddenly start taking the smart shots.

Looks like MacDonald played well, though.

I absolutely hate to say this, because it's sort of the "nuclear option" but blaming injuries just isn't cutting it. Missing Datsyuk and Stuart is hurting, but let's be honest, they were playing pretty poorly all season. Their good record to start wasn't dominating games, and we all saw at the time some holes in their play that have only been exaggerated recently. But they were always there.

But anyways, back to my "nuclear option." The team needs a roster shakeup. Howard is not the goalie of the future, he's struggled for too long and has a long history of being inconsistent. He earned the starting job last year, but not for his whole career. He was only on the team last year because he had no other options. The Wings hoped it would work out and now I don't think it is.

So, here's hoping Holland makes a trade deadline move or two, namely:

Bring in a solid goalie. Yes, we will have to clear cap space and lose a player. It sucks but it's going to have to happen.

Also, fix the defense, which may include trading someone. With the talent on defense we have there's no excuse for this. We need fresh blood, just to make them try again.

There is a clear lack of passion on this team. This Wings team is not the hard working team we've come to know the past few seasons. I don't think the team should be blown up, but I'm thinking a minimum of two moves is necessary to help this team get out of the first round.

Well that was certainly the most horrendous, boring, s***ty, unentertaining, f***awful game I've seen in a long time. If someone were trying to get me into hockey by showing me this game, I would actively devote the rest of my to campaigning against it. If this was the first broadcast alien visitors received upon approaching Earth, they would have no choice but to begin the extermination of mankind.

This game is proof that we are all being slowly digested by an amoral universe.

:shocking: Scariest part of this is I think I agree.

Only if they lose badly - including their yambags. :sly:

And on February 5th, 2011, a new LGW meme was brought into this world. Edi and Electrophile celebrate the birth of Yambags, who will join his siblings Bernie, Conkblock, and Knob as members of the pround, extend LGW family.

I've got to believe they can AT LEAST improve from this. If we could score 7 goals just 2 friggin' games ago, we can surely dig ourselves out of this hole. Even with injuries, I know we can do better than this because we have been! If this isn't the rock bottom you hit before you start climbing up again, I don't know what is. At least I hope it is. Otherwise, yeah, we're really screwed. But I'm not ready to believe that just yet.

Forgot to say, thank you, Abdelkader, for at least having some freaking heart. While everyone else was out taking a Sunday skate at the local rink, you at least brought it to 'em a little. Am bummed that you couldn't get a fight in, but only because the refs are a bunch of yambag jigglers.

I always hate playing Nashville. They hustle and scrap and play a very tight checking game. Not a team the Red Wings can excel against, as they demonstrated tonight. Granted, the Wings were on the second night of back-to-back, but they did not play well tonight and Nashville limited their chances and cashed in the few they got.

I agree with some of this literally, and all of it in spirit.

They remind me of Dallas a few years ago, before the Stars' owners brought in Joe Nieuwendyk, fired Coach Tippett (not his fault), dumped Modano, dumped Turco - ok, that was a good idea, Lehtinen retired (he could still play), Zubov retired (ditto). The team acted like they'd never met out there on the ice.

Not saying a blow up would help, but changes will need to be made, if we are to regain/retain dominance. Regular season means little, but I can't see this team/these goalies getting very far in the playoffs, without a major shift in attitude.

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't think they are trying. It's just that sometimes, the wheel is spinning. No traction, no reaction. They just seem... puzzled.

You're right, we haven't seen the last of the "good" Red Wings. The concern is that they so easily fall into these funks, and have been battling the SAME problems all season (bad passing for extended periods, terrible goaltending {except for tonight}, terrible shooting decisions, etc.)

But I'm hoping they still have that higher gear they can flip on, but I think there may have to be one or two significant changes to the team before the trade deadline.
