Monday Injury Updates from the Detroit News

The Detroit News just posted an article with quotes from Holmer, Dats and Osgood regarding their status.

Datsyuk:

On Monday morning, Datsyuk felt the strength return, so he was to play later in the day against the Rangers at Joe Louis Arena.

"Happy, very happy," Datsyuk said. "I can't wait. It's tough to watch. I don't like watching (the) games."

Holmstrom:

While Datsyuk returns, Tomas Holmstrom still isn't ready. Holmstrom fractured his right hand Jan. 14 in Columbus and was hoping to join Datsyuk back in the lineup.

"I could shoot the puck better, but then battling (drills) I couldn't push away," Holmstrom said. "I'm shooting for Wednesday (against Nashville) but we'll see. It gets better every day."

Osgood:

Osgood is hopeful of getting on the ice with his equipment Tuesday with goaltending coach Jim Bedard to see where he stands in his recovery process.

"I feel pretty good," Osgood said. "I don't have any pain like I had before. It's just a matter of recovering from it, and as soon as that happens, and the pain goes away, I'll be ready to come back."

Ugh!

(edit) Nice find and thanks for posting!

I read the exact same thing, lol. Then when Modano wasn't mentioned in the OP I thought, "Wait, what?"

Good to see that everyone is recovering on schedule. I just hope that Ozzie can be ready by the playoffs.

I like Dats is coming back, I just hope his bones are fully healed and not brittle. I never broke a bone before (knock on wood), so I don't know how bones heal. I'm fine if he needs to sit out another 7-14 days (or more) if needed for a full health recovery.
