Wow. Nice move here. Would have liked to see him in a Wings uniform.

me too, I think he's been used poorly in St. Louis and still has a TON of upside, I think this change of scenery is going to be huge for him and this trade will end up becoming a HUGE steal for TB... with that said, does anyone have any news on what's going back the other way to St. Louis?

ENORMOUS trade. MASSIVE. Will have a GIGANTIC influence on the Bolts.

I apologize.

Probably one of the biggest busts/disappointments in recent memory. Glad he found a new home, Hedman could use his veteran guidance.

And Holland showed Yzerman how it's done last night.

yes, kenny strapped on the pads for one last time and stood on his head. he single handedly beat the bolts :hehe:

No, you wouldn't. Blues fans hate this guy, by and large.

Uh, no.

For 95% of his time here, he was pretty bad. And it really had nothing to do with situations and matchups. He would just screw up routine stuff...bad passes, mishandling the puck, failing to clear the zone too often. I can't tell you how many times he'd mis an assignment in front of the net and have it cost us a goal. He'd get booed in his home rink...he was just bad.

This season he started off better, but has regressed lately again. I think the Blues sold high. His trade value since he has been here has never been higher.

He wasn't a bruiser, he didn't throw his weight around, he wasn't offensive minded, he wasn't a rah-rah leader, he wasn't fundamentally sound, he didn't lead by example on the ice, he wasn't vocal. As a captain, you have to be at least one of those...and he was none of the above.

Blues fans are rejoicing right now that he is gone. There was some fear that he would be re-signed in the offseason. I'm happy we got something for him.

Yzerman just got schooled. Brewer peaked back when he was in Edmonton and was on Team Canada.

Even watching him in junior, I never got the feeling I was watching an elite defenceman. I hope for Steve's sake the change of scenery does Brewer some good and he can play like it's 2002.
