Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted April 5, 2011 I am not surprised, but I am mad. I wanted to watch any of the 15 million games tonight that has a big impact in the playoff picture. Instead Versus insists on a meaningless game. Grrr. Anyone know the links to a good streaming site? I really would like to watch Chicago get thumped by Montreal... MGreenberg 105 Report post Posted April 5, 2011 (edited) http://www.myp2p.eu/...pline=icehockey Click the little TV symbol on the right then click play which will open a thread with most games and a stream(or a few) for each game. EDIT: http://enjellybeans.blogspot.com/2011/04/channel-4.html (Direct link to the MON-CHI game) Edited April 5, 2011 by MGreenberg 2 HadThomasVokounOnFortSt and Majsheppard reacted to this

Broadcasts are often decided upon weeks and weeks in advance, long before they could've magically guessed any possible playoff implications. Really silly to get angry over something like this. GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 (edited) I wonder how many games the Pens have played on TV without Crosby? Pathetic the league hasn't tried to reschedule any of those games, like the NFL does late in seasons. Edited April 6, 2011 by GMRwings1983

While I agree with what you're saying in general, the game is not entirely meaningless. Marioburgh is 3 pts. behind Philly, who is having a little trouble winning as of late. They have the possibility of passing Philly for the division title and getting out of that 4, maybe even 5 slot and moving up to what one would think would be the 2 or possibly the 1 spot in the conference. There is some meaning too this game, though most of us could give a s*** about it. And yeah, throw a foil hat on me, but I don't see the reason to air a game minus a teams 3 biggest newsmakers, when there are several other games of interest that could be better used to help promote the league, and the game. WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 If the NHL can have a flex schedule with a main network like NBC, I refuse to believe they couldn't do the same with a ghost station like Versus. They are in fact both owned by Comcast. It is very frustrating to see Pit/NJ being broadcasted when much more impactful games are taking place. And to the poster who said this game does have implications, please, that's a stretch. Sure it does. But not nearly to the degree of some of the other games. It's a moot point in comparison. LadyInRed 33 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 The chicago & habs game is pretty fun to watch, still tied in the 3rd period.. both goalies are giving them a run for their money!
jollymania 162 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Because they choose the games before the season starts, get over it. Or buy center ice, though tonight there are no replays on center ice which is stupid.
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 Because they choose the games before the season starts, get over it. Or buy center ice, though tonight there are no replays on center ice which is stupid. That argument is irrelevant. If they can decide which games to play on NBC a few weeks in advance, they should do the same with Versus.

jollymania 162 Report post Posted April 6, 2011 That argument is irrelevant. If they can decide which games to play on NBC a few weeks in advance, they should do the same with Versus. nbc has only 3 games to choose from and they do it weeks in advance, probably even 3 weeks ago vs could have been banking on this game to be one that nj still had a chance in

So Philly lost, while Pensburgh won, bringing the teams 1 point apart with 2 games to go, all while Philly has lost 7 of their last 10 games. Is a division title battle what you would call a strech? Or is that just plain old blind Western homerism I smell? And for all of us who revel in schadenfreude, The Hawks are Wednesdays Versus game of the night.
