GAWing 1 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 Here go the Sharks again, maybe, with another playoff flop. If the Kings at least take them the distance and we take care of the Coyotes like we should I like our chances a lot in the next round.

If the Kings at least take them the distance and we take care of the Coyotes like we should I like our chances a lot in the next round. I won't start worrying about the next round until we take care of the Coyotes. Phoenix will not roll over and die just because they are in a 2-0 hole. Their captain, as sleazy and slimy as he is, will make sure the team comes to play Monday night.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 17, 2011 These two games have given my new appreciation for just how fast the Kings are as a team That's the surprising thing though, the Sharks are actually faster. Marleau, Setoguchi, Couture. The Kings have just been playing their great grinding defensive system, and the Sharks have looked like they can't be bothered to go get the puck. The downside of the Kings system is the puck spends tons of time in the offensive zone, but behind the net and in the corners. Hardly anyone except Justin Williams (and Kopitar) takes it to the middle. Three of their goals last night came from D men at the blueline. If the Kings beat the Sharks while missing Kopitar, to me it's a big upset. But there's still a lot of hockey to play.
Xitium 272 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Wow. Kings lead early. 1-0 Kings. Not a good goal for Niemi. Make that 2-0. SJ needs a timeout.

RedLightGoesOn 81 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 Looks like the Kings are taking a page out of the Wings' book. Damn. I'd love to see the Sharks lose this one. 1 Vladifan reacted to this

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 As happy as I am the Kings will get a 4 minute power play, I hate that rule. A guy bleeding has almost nothing to do with the severity of the high stick. It's so friggin random.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 (edited) Their PP was embarrassingly awful all season, but it looks like they're getting it together here a bit in the playoffs. Willie Mitchell now has more goals this playoffs than Joe Thornton, with 1. Edited April 20, 2011 by haroldsnepsts

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 20, 2011 I never know what to make of these guys. They're getting their asses kicked for the second consecutive game against a team that finished way lower than them and is missing their best player. These assholes need to finish the period.
