Jack Adams finalists announced

More so than any other award, playoffs should factor into the Jack Adams. When asked who the best coaches in the NHL are, Babcock is going to be right up at the top of everyone's list, but it is the playoffs where he really differentiates himself (and all good coaches).

The fact the greatest coach of all-time only has 2 Adams, and the best in the league currently has never even been nominated just means it is really a bull s*** award and about as meaningful or relevant as the Messier award.

The Adams should be voted on at the same time as the Conn Smythe, and regular season and playoffs should factor in.

Er, they're not "nominated," they're finalists. The winner has already been chosen.

Babcock was a finalist in 2008, BTW.

As I said in my post, Byslma did a good job this year, but name me a single coach on the list I posted that he deserved the nomination for more? especially with the standard that had been set with coaches not getting nods based on injuries (ie. Babcock, Jacques Martin and Peter Laviolette all dealt with that last year, yet none of them got nods...)

Babcock, Boudreau, Boucher, Tippet and Julien all did more and made a bigger impact...

also, as I said in my original post, I still think Trotz deserves it this year, regardless of who is/was nominated

I would put Boucher, Julien, and Boudreau as my top three.

Forgot about 08.

Oh, and thanks for the clarification on award voting - I'm new to hockey and had no idea.
