haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 I was a big Gallant fan growing up watching the Wings. A gritty player who would could score. In his prime he could put up 70-90 points and 200+ PIMs.
cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Gallant's Sea Dogs won the game 3-2 in the first overtime, earning them a spot in the Memorial Cup final.
Bring Back The Bruise Bros 1,029 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Holy s*** those teams were insanely tough. Gallant, Probert, Kocur Gallant was one of the extremely rare power forwards, like Harold Snepts said. The true definition of a power forward.
nuts2u 22 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 Fond memories of Gallant, those were the days when NOBODY f***ed with our star players. Would love to have him as an assistant with the Wings.

The true definition of a power forward. Plus they had a lot of other guys who would scrap like Snepsts, Lee Norwood, Mel Bridgman, and probably a few I'm not thinking of. Half that team would drop the gloves.

Who knows, maybe we'll head back in that direction some time.

I know he's a legend amongst Flyers fight fans during his time there, when he was a really good fighter in the early 80's.

I know he's a legend amongst Flyers fight fans during his time there, when he was a really good fighter in the early 80's. He only played a couple seasons, I think. I probably just have a strong association of him as a Wing from that time because it back was when I was going to every game, some practices and whatnot. So I saw him a lot. cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 In last night's Memorial Cup final, St. John beat Mississauga 3-1, in a battle of Prince Edward Island born head coaches. It marks the first time a team from Atlantic Canada has won the Memorial Cup. It also shows that Dave Cameron would be a perfect fit for the job in Ottawa, as he has watched his team lose three different championship games in the same year. Majsheppard 203 Report post Posted May 30, 2011 Speaking of Gallant, I just was tweeting with a sports writer for a Canadian Newspaper and we agreed that Gallant might be a good fit for assistant coach if MacLean decides to leave.
