From TSN:

Has anyone else noticed that Dr. Bylsma announces almost every Penguin injury?

What do you mean? In my experience, it is normally the coach that announces injuries.

Edit....or are you wondering why every injury is "announced." In that case, my experience is that all injuries are announced as well, maybe you just don't always see it because it's not a headline article on TSN.ca or some other site.

Normally what happens is the team will hold a practice and someone won't be skating and the coach will answer questions after practice and that is how injuries get "announced."

From TSN:

Flyers defenceman Chris Pronger will miss two to three weeks and spend the next few days on bed rest after taking a stick near his right eye against Toronto.

...

...

Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren told TSN that Pronger saw an eye specialist at the arena. Pronger will be on bed rest for three to four days out of concern for possible blood pooling. The Flyers hope that Pronger will get back in two to three weeks depending on how the injury heals, and said that he will need to wear a visor to be cleared to play.

The team said that Pronger complained of blurred vision after the incident on Monday.

The injury bug continues to bite Toronto Maple Leafs centre Tim Connolly.

Connolly missed practice on Monday and head coach Ron Wilson told reporters that the veteran is out 10 days to two weeks with an upper-body injury sustained on Saturday.

Connolly started the year on injured reserve and missed eight games with an upper-body injury but this injury is not related.

Neil won't travel with the team and has been ruled out of both games this weekend.

From Edmonton Journal:

Maybe it’s the number. Wearing the No. 13 jersey certainly hasn’t worked wonders for Edmonton Oilers defenceman Cam Barker, who missed three games earlier this season with a sore shoulder.

And he just learned that he’ll be out of action for about a month with a left ankle sprain.

From TSN;

...

The news on Mike Komisarek and Matthew Lombardi was not as positive. Lombardi left Thursday's game in Nashville with an upper-body injury and later left the arena with his left arm in a sling. Komisarek also left the game with an upper-body injury.

Both players are expected to miss a minimum of three weeks.
