Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Might as well have these GDT's for now since Detroit's offseason was apparently scheduled between games. 5 Hockeymom1960, Ram, WizardOfOz30 and 2 others reacted to this
Din758 371 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 Anyone on VS tonight?
InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 I'd really like to see Colorado win big on Reimer. Every off season, I get the idea that it would be nice to see the Maple Leafs turn it around but... It would be so much more fun to see them struggle. Plus, there can't be a Red Wings-Avalanche rivalry with only one hockey team. 1 Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
Sprsquirt7 45 Report post Posted October 17, 2011 These 5 days off between games is aggrevating... that said hockey is hockey its nice to have it period. Hopefully vs has decent announcers and not a snoozefest of a game.

WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Jets score eight seconds in! Blue waffle scores. 1-0 Leafs. Kessel's always been streaky, but he looks to have elevated his game thus far this season.
WorkingOvertime 536 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Glass with a nice goal. Good to see him score. 2-0 Jets.
Guest 13GoWings40 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Yes! I'm so glad I drafted Kessel in fantasy! I'm also looking for big games out of Enstrom and Suter tonight, if anyone cares about the fortunes of the Warren Rebels lol

BlakKy 58 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Even though 2 years of oustings by the SJS have just passed I still hate the Ducks more. It's a powerful dislike.
Dave 324 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Even though 2 years of oustings by the SJS have just passed I still hate the Ducks more. It's a powerful dislike. It's not the fact that they beat the Wings 2 years in a row (well, it is a little) it's the diving that really pissed me off.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Nice to see Florida get another win. I'd really like to see them challenge for the post season.
InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 Nice to see Florida get another win. I'd really like to see them challenge for the post season. That games was fairly chippy too, it'd be a good rivalry if both teams continue to play well.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted October 18, 2011 That indeed will be a good rivalry if Florida is able to post an actual challenge to Tampa.

Yeah, I feel the same way. At least the Ducks are just flat-out jerks, instead of a bunch of little floppers, cheap-shotters, and whiners. I can soooorrrt of allllmost respect a guy like Getzlaf who makes life difficult for the other team with his tough style of play, rather than with his high diving marks or ability to suck up to the refs. Heck, even Perry's learned to shut his trap and just play some hockey. Pair that with Pronger and Niedermayer being gone, and I can't say I really hate them with a burning passion like I did just a couple of years ago. Of course, the Sharks did lose a touch of classlessness now that Setoguchi and Heatley are gone, but still, nobody on the Ducks currently irritates me quite like Joe Thornton does. That's saying a lot because Perry can still be a turd when he wants to be, and even though it irks me to think he's got a Cup ring, the Hart trophy, and the Rocket Richard trophy, it irks me even more that Thornton doesn't have squat to back up all those theatrics, and yet he just keeps doing it. edit: had "even more than Thornton" - oops Edited October 19, 2011 by MulesWillFly93

There aren't many that irritate me more than Joe Thornton. I hope he never gets his name on the Cup. Even though many don't like Corey Perry, I'd be happy to have in Detroit. He doesn't run his mouth as much as he used to, but he's still an agitating player.
