This series is all about goaltending.  If we could figure out Hiller, Howie can carry us through game 7.  D needs to step up and Wings need to be more aggressive in the corners.    And for god's sake hit somebody!  Bring Tootoo back.

good question.

this team of losers doesn't really deserve my attention.

I think I can safely speak for the team when I say goodbye and you will not be missed.

except Abby back in Sammy back out

Can they take Sammy out after he scored. He didn't look great other than the goal...but since we're having trouble scoring...

This board is funny - series over? We're down one game.  If Brunner scores on the breakaway, we win. It was a Good game and saw a lot good things. Really liked Nyquist's poise with the puck. Just too many youthful defensive mistakes from different players.

I'll say this before I go to bed. I don't write often but trying to be more vocal on here lately, but i am on here reading it everyday. Anyways regarding the game...We didnt play our best hockey but give kudos to the ducks they defended home ice. Now it's our turn to defend home ice on Friday. I'll be coming to the game from Toronto with a few buddies, and I hope to see the Joe rockin and us giving the team all the support we can. We have a very bright future regardless of what happens this series. We had our chances today, obviously difference maker being that 5 min PP, if you want to call it a PP. On the last goal, anderson needs to tie his man up. Also, maybe just me, but i wasnt impressed with lashoff again. Too many mistakes etc. I would like to see Carlo out there game 6 in Lashoffs spot. I also Think Abby needs to be back in the lineup, and despite sammys coring we need him out and keep bert in. Bert and Nyquist have ben lookin great. Unsure if you want to break lines up but if not this year then next year nyquist needs to be a top 6 forward. Let's stay calm, keep faith, and be loud on Friday and help propell the wings to a win and force game 7. This year is a learning curve with all the young players, we need patience. I think we can pull it off Friday and game 7 anything can happen. We need to play like we did game 4 not game 5. Night boys and girls. Cheers!

Oh well that was an inevitable ending given the squandered opportunities, but they do get a chance to right the ship and get it to a 7th game where anything can happen. Keep the faith folks and good things can happen.

3 things I liked:

Watching Nyquist's confidence and his overall game grow more and more.

I think Big E is really rounding into a very solid defenseman.

Jiri Hudler or Robert Lang didn't take any hooking penalties.

We will win game 6!!! Abby will be back and the Guys will be flying at home.... Then game 7 is a coin flip... But it will go 7... I still have faith...

I'm sick of hearing that the series is over after EVERY loss... It's gets old

Our D has cost us another game that we played well enough to win. Has Smith had a single good game in the NHL? He's a waste of space might as well be playing for the ducks. But keep giving him to 4 minutes

But Hudler and Lang are still lazy and suck...

We're learning lessons the hard way I suppose. Earlier we learned not to stop playing with a 4-0 lead. Now we've learned the importance of getting ahead when you have a chance, after blowing that major powerplay. Overall we are exceeding everyone's expectations (especially LGW's doom and gloom expectations). Whatever happens this year will make us better for next year.

This was mentioned, but the fact that 5 rookies were on the ice is a coaching faux pas. This isn't the fab 5 we're talking about.

3rd line was our best line all game... We only have 3 NHL level defenseman they can't be out the whole game. Kindl is worse than a rookie

Our D has cost us another game that we played well enough to win. Has Smith had a single good game in the NHL? He's a waste of space might as well be playing for the ducks. But keep giving him to 4 minutes

Who else deserves it... Quincey? Lashoff? Our D hasn't been strong all season. We have 2-3 rookie D in a night and Kindl who is basically a rookie with the lack of minutes he played last season. It's called growing pains. We can't pull a random top 4 dman out of a hat. The only Way the kids learn how to play the game is by throwing them on the ice..

I know people were expecting smith to show up, throw up 30+ points and be decent in our own zone as well but I promise you. If we give up on him. We will regret it... Just like with kindl and big rig... Weird how after a couple season we start praising these guys... D develop later is a common thing. We don't have the luxury of drafting the Seth jones, PK subbans, mike greens...
