So some pretty substantial news in the Michigan sporting world.  Michigan Entertainment Sports is going to be launched this fall on various cable providers in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio.  They have signed a 3 year deal with the Grand Rapids Griffins and plan to pickup games from smaller college schools, not in the Big Ten, minor and junior level teams along with High School sports across the state.

Should be interesting to see what will become of this station, but good news for Wings and Griffins fans.  They are literally brand new, as they don't have anything on their site, http://mes-tv.com/

However they have another blog like site, here http://mymes.us/

Here is a quick bio of them on LinkedIn:  http://www.linkedin....tainment-sports

This is cool.  No idea if it can survive, though.  Then again, there are multiple cooking channels so I guess there's a market for everything if the operating costs are kept low.

I wonder how widely available the channel will be.  I've never seen a Griffins game before and I would definitely watch if I had easy access to it.

Check out my short e-book on the Red Wings' 1937 Stanley Cup championship entitled: "Nothing Could Keep 'Em Down." Please download it from my profile at Smashwords: https://www.smashwor...ile/view/victor

New e-book: The Spanish-American War: A Brief History. Relatively short, introductory read for casual history buffs and people who want to learn more about a forgotten war that changed America. Available at BN.com, Smashwords, Kobo, and Diesel E-Books right now. Same link as above.

Hey good news, hopefully we can get some Griffs live video that doesn't look like an old VHS tape from the 80s finally.

Same here about Charter. Hoping they add this. It's only a 20 minute drive to Van Andel for me to watch the Griffs, but I would love the opportunity sometimes to make that a 0-minute drive by watching on TV :)
