Interesting, Hiller played himself out of a spot, and Koivu was terrible in the playoffs.

For some reason, I just saw Hiller going to Winnipeg.

Hiller or Reimer to the 'Peg.  'Fer Shure. They need to jettison Pavelec ASAP.

Washington is looking for veteran back-up, too. Could see him fitting there.

Wonder if Koivu calls it quits. Also, Winnik is a solid grinder. He should be able to find a contract elsewhere.

Can't believe they are letting Winnik walk, guy is an absolute workhose, has good size and can grind like hell. I could easily Hiller signing with the Capitals, they need a proven veteran in net, especially under Trotz who is used to a guy named Rinne..Budreaus just has a talent to ruin goalies come playoff time, I wouldn't have had a  lot of confidence in Hiller's case also and the guy is a good goalie, not elite but very capable of being a starter in the NHL.

I still think the Jets are going to buyout Pavelec, they just don't want to anounce it till the deal for a guy like Reimer is all but done.

The Monster played well for us no doubt but he is the most injury prone as I have seen... I would have rather we signed Hiller as a backup over Monster if that was an option. Its not a matter of if his defective groin will break but when and how many times.

Hiller hasn't been the same since having vertigo.
Were there other options?
Sure.
Do I think any of them wouldve signed a one year deal?
Probably not.
Especially not for 1.5m.
