#2566040 LA puts Mike Richards on waivers

Posted by frankgrimes on 26 January 2015 - 02:23 PM

Wow that's nuts. Does LA still have their buyout clause available? Or did that all expire after the end of the year last year? (Sorry, I'm completely lost without CapGeek...too much research.)

That window closed down after the seasson started.

#2565672 Mantha Still Hopes to Play in Detroit This Season

Posted by dirtydangles on 23 January 2015 - 10:53 AM

1. Mantha needs to earn it first - guys like Nyquist, Tatar, Pulks worked very hard and produced before being called up - shouldn't be any different for this guy unless Holland magically decides he gets special treatment

2. There are so many guys ahead of Mantha if there is an injury - right now we have Franzen and Jurco on the sideline and Pulks is clearly ahead of Mantha on the call-up so its not likely that we see him up over those 3 unless we have a string of injuries somehow.

3. The wings will want him to spend time developing properly rather than player lower minutes in Detroit and bouncing around between teams.

I blame Babcock. Should have started McCollum. That would have woken the team up before the game.

#2563349 Could the Wings be better off trading Pav & Hank for draft picks?

And this team has potential.

Let's go wings...
I really hope they come out and play hard tonight, I feel like this might be one of those measuring stick type games.

#2560833 Randy Carlyle relieved of his duties by Leafs

Someone must have watched the Canadian Jrs win last night and thought "wow you can win in this building"

Bylsma is the right guy for that job.  It's a team built for offense, and he's won a Cup with a team built for offense.  If they get a guy like Babs they're going to have to spend the next three seasons (or so) trying to restructure the roster.

There has been talk of Babcock in Toronto, but just talk, certainly nothing of substance behind it.  This firing doesn't make me think it's any more likely though, makes me think the opposite actually.  If the plan was really in place to try and bring Babcock in as coach, you'd think they'd keep Randy for the rest of the year and then replace him in the off-season.  Now, they will need to bring in someone else, who I'm sure wouldn't be planned to just be around for half a season.

#2556798 Where were team-mates on the Smith headshot

Well considering Smith is the only player that stands up to stuff like that and he was the one that got hit he had to stand up for himself.

Ericsson jumped Nolan when he hit Helm from behind.

Go Wings! My wedding rehearsal is today so it looks like this will be the first game of the year I miss. Hopefully last game against Florida taught them something and they come out and crush 'em tonight.

#2555885 Jimmy sucks in a shootout Howard

Posted by derblaueClaus on 11 December 2014 - 07:39 PM

Am I the only one who thinks that a.) the sample size is much to small to have reliable stats and b.) that shootouts are more or less coin flips and therefore the whole discussion about how Howard or the team sucks in shootouts is pretty much pointless ?
