#2359802 Clowe suspension review for coming off bench against Hawks

Posted by kipwinger on 23 February 2013 - 05:38 PM

Clowe is such a stupid piece of trash.  Remember against the Kings when he played the puck from the bench to break up a rush on the King's power play.  Classless piece of garbage!

#2359385 Isles place Rick DiPietro on waivers

lol, they should put their whole team on waivers

Yes they should. Minus Moulson and Tavares

#2359109 Howard = Average

howards stats would be average for a 5th seed playoff team in the 1980s. you know when scoring was astronomically high.

TSN has the most unbiased broadcast of any sport.

TSN is great. CBC? Not so much.

Backes set the tone and we didn't answer.

Didn't answer?  Heck, we didn't even know what the question was.

I'm not saying the sky is falling, but it is a bit foggy out.

#2339894 Helm injures back, doubtful for season opener

Our bottom six isn't the same without Helm in there.

Red Wings players head to Phoenix to practice and prepare for potential season

So Pavel is in Russia, Filppula is back, Zetteberg and Brunner in Swiss, now Kronwall, Howard, and Cleary are starting to practice... Hmm, which important Wings player is missing?

I'm sure Sammy is already in perfect shape. Doesn't need to practice........=)

#2313319 Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.

Posted by haroldsnepsts on 02 July 2012 - 09:28 PM

I hate Twitter's popularity in times like thius because everyone thinks they're Bob McKenzie. All the Twitter nonsense aside, im still hopeful we at least get Suter AND a scoring winger in some fashion or another.

That's why at times like this you can pretty much only listen to McKenzie and Dreger.

Everyone else tries to break the story because they dont' have to worry about being wrong most of the time.

#2312260 Red Wings Sign Jordin Tootoo to 3-yr deal, $1.9M/yr

Posted by newfy on 01 July 2012 - 06:39 PM

People need to relax. Tootoo put up 30 points this past season which is more than anyone in our bottom 6 and hes also a legit tough player that the wings needed. I would have rathered Prust but for the price and role Tootoo is fine. Now that hes sober he isnt that bad.

You all chirp him but wait til he runs over a few guys and youll all love him. Solid signing. Tootoo - Helm - Abdelkader is going to be a nasty line

#2312243 Red Wings Sign Mikael Samuelsson to 2-yr, $6m deal (w/full NTC)

Posted by VM1138 on 01 July 2012 - 06:33 PM

I think people should relax and realize that this doesn't really affect our Suter/Parise sweepstakes bid. It's a secondary scoring move, one the team had to make.

Great day so far.
-Inked a potential masked assasin in Brunner for peanuts
- the monster has a ton of untapped potential and with Bedard and our Swedish room, and limited playing time I think hell do great
-Sammy takes alllot of flack around here ... hes still got game. He had a terrible start last year because he had a severe adductor tear repaired. Big body, decent wheels, heavy shot ... yeah hes streaky, but what euro isnt?
-Tootoo - bargain of the day IMO. Imagine him and Adbelkader smashing dmen on the forecheck? Oh, and no more tootoo whistles in Nashville - thank f***!

If there was any question that Detroit was serious this off-season management has shown the fanbase and the free-agent pool that they arentf****** around. If Suter comes Ill be happy with what we've got BUT have a sneaking suspicion another big name top 6 fwd will follow him. Pretty pumped right now.

Well put. I admit, I think Samuelsson is an overpayment, and Tootoo kind of makes me noxious, but overall, we haven't missed out on the big fish yet, and some good depth signings. In the end, however, it all hinges on the big fish. The concern now is that these were not depth signings, but "instead of", "plan B", or "tweek" signings which Kenny has been doing the last few years.

Get Suter and one good scoring forward and I'll be content. Do that, and it could very well be the best off-season in a decade. Time will tell (and hopefully not too much time).

#2312120 St. James: Wings have inquired about Rick Nash

Posted by joesuffP on 01 July 2012 - 05:42 PM

I'd rather have Nash than Pairise. Nash definitely has 50 goal potential... I hope we keep Franzen in this deal. We'll have goal scoters throughout the lineup Sammy, Nash, Franzen and our bottom 6 is quite solid I must say
