redwingfan19 293 Report post Posted May 11, 2007 Found this on another board found it quite intersting. Since the National Hockey League was formed, in every year ending in a seven, either a Canadian team or Detroit have won the Stanley Cup. Ottawa 1927 Detroit 1937 Toronto 1947 Montreal 1957 Toronto 1967 Montreal 1977 Edmonton 1987 Detroit 1997 and Detroit and Ottawa have a chance this year. Hopefully history can repeat itself

I think as far as the NHL is concered, a Detroit - Ottawa finals would be superb. I'd love to see it. But if it can't be Detroit, at least those bastards in the East will have to travel!
