Dabura 12,232 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID.../805260377/1053 Inside scoop [on Homer]: Masterly mangles the English language as well as his native Swedish; often accused by teammates of being Finnish, or from the North Pole (quite possibly Santa Claus), and having the least curved stick in hockey. In the process of attaining U.S. Green Card, it prompting teammates to wonder just how low American standards have sunk.
BlakChamber 8 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 Inside scoop: [on Osgood] Considers himself very, very good-looking, never tires of reminding anyone that a few years ago the Dallas Ice Girls voted him third-sexiest goalie in the NHL. Likes to do TV interviews without a shirt on. Mentally tough even though he comes across as the most laid-back personality on the team. Nice article, its great how well the Wings treat their players. wingnut40 176 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 Wow great find. It's funny to hear what they say about each other. Nick, he's changed the least, he's absolutely flawless. He's the perfect human still and that's exactly how we like him." (Maltby)Sometimes referred to as "Donkey" from Shrek because "he doesn't stop talking and he's annoying," Draper said, "and those are two of his finer characteristics." Former teammate Bob Rouse, however, did borrow Lidstrom's new Mercedes, and got a scratch on it because of valet parking. As Rouse told the story, he was quite certain Lidstrom was steamed. Overall unfailingly polite and extremely diplomatic. I ROFLed.

ChicksDigScars 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 Did you ever notice that Nick, a Swede, living in the Detroit suburbs, speaks with a Canadian accent? Yeah, the further north you go in Michigan, the more Canuck slips into your speach patterns, but Nick sounds more Canadian than some of his teammates that were actually born and raised there. Yeah, the further north you go in Michigan, the more Canuck slips into your speach patterns, but Nick sounds more Canadian than some of his teammates that were actually born and raised there. On a sidenote, hasn't Lidstrom both swedish and american citizenship nowadays? I heard this somewhere...after all he's lived in NA almost half his life. RedWingfaninCO 43 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 I really enjoyed reading the article. Once all this is over, and we will have time for reading things other than articles and blogs on the Wings, I would recommend another good read: What It Means To Be a Red Wing. This is a great book that chronicles the team's history from the 40's to the recent years. Looking forward to the game in a few hours! Go Wings!!!
