You dream too small. With just a few trades: Weber - Suter Chara - Yandle Karlsson - Byfuglien .... damn straight!

Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?
stillwater replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
No. They can't and they won't. -
Why would the Jets trade Blake Wheeler? Is that a logical question to start with?

Opinions if Wings have to settle for 'Plan B': Semin and Carle
stillwater replied to a topic in General
There's no 1st line defender available in free-agency. The one guy we wanted (Suter) is gone. Don't sign a second level guy to a long-term deal, just because you have money ... that limits what you can do in the future. They lost the only guy they really needed (Suter) ... can't panic now. Sign Quincey and get a veteran on short deal for the 3rd pairing. Just have to wait for the next great free agent ... or trade.- 93 replies

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
stillwater replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I just hope you fellas are playing the "citing" game properly. Until I have a "blueadams" line thread with Suter's name in it, I'm a non-believer.- 487 replies

Suter Watch: Decision today, down to Wings/Wild
stillwater replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
Then again, neither Suter or Parise have ever been a Red Wing, therefore they don't owe you or Mr.Illitch anything at all.- 487 replies

That's fantastic.

Oh, they dropped the rape charges.

I think I'll pass.

I also think Kindl is a much better player than most give him credit for.

Good idea ... you're just really late to the party.

See you Joey. Enjoy your time with the Belfast Giants.

Still full for me as well. That's ok ... my fear is I get in and it's just me and 249 "Blueadams".

Signed Red Wings Sign G Jonas Gustavsson to 2-year deal, $1.5M/yr
stillwater replied to Tim.D's topic in General
I'll save you the trouble and provide the lines: 1 - Howard 2 - Gustavsson -
Ryan is already signed through 2015.

I suggest a drinking game based on the "new guy". Any suggestions?

Ericsson, Hudler, Emmerton and a #1 for Bogosian. Sign Brad Richards. Sign Scott Hannan. Get a backup goalie.

Jackets sign Wisniewski: 6-years $33-million ($5.5m/yr)
stillwater replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I don't know if it's a repeat, but Wiz is on the NHL Network talking about Detroit was never on his list because they refuse to pay market value for free-agents. So, reading between the lines, he just wanted to get paid, and if $5.5 million over 6-years is the "market value" for a one-year wonder, I'm glad the Wings didn't pay it. -
My take on this is that Ericsson was signed with the full intent of putting him on the trade block. There are still a list of teams who need to spend to reach the cap floor. There isn't a lot left out there to spend on, and no way is Richards going to a bad team. Thus someone could step up and try to get Ericsson.
-
The basic gist was ... the best player available is still out there in Richards. If the Wings end up with him, they've done better than anyone else.

Today isn't the deadline for offer sheets and no one has no way of knowing what trade talks Holland is having. How about today's contracts? That was what I was interested in. Is there anyone out there who thinks Holland should have given Wiz $6 million over 5-years? That type of thing.
