Evander Kane is a Better Option than Zach Parise
Z Winged Dangler replied to MrBest7's topic in General
the best player on the Jets not named Blake Wheeler you mean... I had the Jets channel and watched over 60 Jets games alone last season, and Wheeler is the best, most consistent, most dynamic player on the Jets. Followed by Kane. In saying that, if Kenny wanted to acquire Kane to play on the Wings i'd be all for the idea. -
this is the same thing i was telling my buddy at work. they still crap depth. beyond a top line of Parise-Koivu-Heatley they have Granlund-Bouchard-Setoguchi. A rookie who hasn't played in the NHL yet making 2.1 mil, a centre who i'd be pretty choked if he was the Wings 2nd line C, and Dive-on-gooch....nuff said. Their 3rd and 4th lines consist of plugs. Their D now has Suter and Scandella followed by a way overpaid Tom Gilbert at 4mil per. the cherry on top is Backstrom at 6mil per. They will ultimately lose half of their prospects the same way Chicago lost theirs after what someone earlier mentioned as a one and done, but Chicago had way more depth when they won the cup that i just don't see the Wild having with 5 guys making over 6mil per year.

Could be an easier, cheaper way to try and acquire Yandle...

The Ever-Increasing Cap, Ridiculous Contracts, and Hitting
Z Winged Dangler replied to zenway9's topic in General
go even further, you can sign a guy max 5 or 6 years. then you don't have ridiculous front loaded contracts for lifetime. make it so the annual cap hit = the amount they make and you can't change yearly amounts. you sign 5 years, 25 mil, you get 5 mil per year period. -
Dear Mr. Holland: Forget about FA, trade for Yandle and Ryan
Z Winged Dangler replied to YzermanRULES19's topic in General
You're seriously undervaluing Smith and Nyquist. Especially when you consider from watching Smith that he has potential to be better than Yandle and has the potential to be top 2 on the Wings with Kronner. Nyquist had all 7 of his points in the first 13 games when he was playing on the 2nd and 3rd lines, then Franzen's lazy arse came back and he was relegated to the 4th line playing with Homer and Emmerton.....good luck getting points on that misfit line. He was .53 PPG playing on lines 2-3. Over 82 games, that's 43 points. If he's on lines 1-2 all year, then he'll likely produce more than that getting over 50 points easy so long as Babcock doesn't misuse him again. Smith was at .5 PPG when he was up with 7 points in 14 games. If he's in the top 4, which we expect he will be, he's got the potential to get 50 points. that is the reason guys like Smith and Nyquist have the tagline "Top Prospects" at their respective positions. And the only way you trade a guy like Flip, who had a career year at 66 points, 16 more than Hudler, is if Jarnkrok is ready to step up, which he is a year away from. Yandle is a great dman, comparable to Duncan Keith, but to say that 2 out of 3 of those guys would be needed to get him, i'd give 1 of them and maybe the 1st rounder. The only trade i would actually make to get Yandle from the Yotes is Franzen and Tatar straight up. If they want a pick with that, max 2nd rounder.- 61 replies

Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?
Z Winged Dangler replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
And with that ******* Radulov going back to Russia hence bailing on the Preds again, they are hurting even more. They don't seem to have much depth and they do not have even 1 high profile superstar forward. Their return to obscurity started as soon as their playoff exit happened. Weber is their last hope. If they don't lock him up, they'll have a hard time luring talent there. -
Could Wings still make a move on Weber this year?
Z Winged Dangler replied to turbowhistle86's topic in General
But Weber's in disbelief that Suter abandoned the sinking ship... lol. -
What happens if the new CBA lowers the Cap?
Z Winged Dangler replied to Donaldjr2448's topic in General
How can the cap change again if it was already set for next year and agreed upon by the powers that be? The CBA should come into effect this year, but as the cap was already set, would it not stay the same? And what will happen if it lowers? We will lol at all the teams that overpaid for guys in this weak UFA crop that will have $0 to bid for Weber's services next summer and he will have to pick between staying in Nashville and heading to the Wings cause Kenny's non-signings this summer for guys such as Parise, Suter and Carle will not look so bad long term. As much as we get pissed at Kenny sometimes, he KNOWS how the cap works and has much more inside info then the rest of us that are waiting to see what he will do. If he gets Semin for around $5mil per for 4 years, he could get 150-200 goals in that period playing with Dats. He got 40 goals on Washington.... -
On top of all the other really good seeming draft picks we got this year. I hate the Quincey trade more and more each day. Quincey played like total s*** when he came to the Wings. he should be awarded league min for his play, not over 3mil.
-
i wasn't big on the idea of getting Semin, but i remember seeing him WIN the WC playing on a line with Dats, so it's worth a try at this point.
-
I'd rather see our prospects like Nyquist and Tatar on the team getting ice time than entertain the thought of signing that dirty piece of garbage Doan. For that matter, what other dmen do we have that could possibly step in? i'd say Almqvist, but once he left Jr, his point production kinda fell off.
-
Especially when Brunner, Nyquist, Smith and Jarnkrok make names for themselves. And our prospects are pretty damn good and this years draft that was supposed to be weak, we all seemed to like what the Wings brass found.
-
LET'S ALL FREAK OUT AND CUT OUR WRISTS! or....the next move could just be to sign Semin for a year or 2, sign Matt Carle, pitch offers for Nash and Ryan and see what comes of it. As long as the trade package doesn't include Flip, Gus or Smith it's all good. there's always an option. I wanted Parise and Suter as bad as anyone, but it's not the end of the world and the Wild are screwed as soon as Granlund wants his payday. 3 years from now, all they'll have is Suter and Parise.

Ryan Suter agrees to 13-year, $98-mil deal with Wild
Z Winged Dangler replied to Ozzie30's topic in General
i hope they both have fun never winning a cup in their career's now. Suter probably would have signed if he could play with Lids.- 252 replies

Enstrom is good, but he's not worth more than Filppula and Smith looks like he's gonna be a better dman. Franzen could be a straight 1 for 1, if not then add a 2nd round pick or Pulkkinen. I watched about 50 Jets games last year and while Enstrom is a really good dman, he's not worth what some of you guys are proposing in the trade.
-
I heard before from a buddy here in Winnipeg that he may be available for the right price. Not sure where he heard it from, but he's not untouchable by any means.
-
Mild overpayment. Would have offered between 3.5 and 4 mil.

List of why Zach Parise and Ryan Suter should choose the Red Wings...
Z Winged Dangler replied to MrBest7's topic in General
10. They fit the Wings style perfectly. 11. Both of them signing makes them and the Wings instant favorite to win the cup. 12. As 2 American hockey players, they should want to get the Wings past the Leafs for 2nd most cups. (Yes i'm Canadian, no I don't like most Canadian hockey teams...Go Wings!) -
Jiri Hudler signs with Calgary, 4 years, $4m/year
Z Winged Dangler replied to Zetts's topic in General
No s***. Another overpayment by another GM. I will laugh my ass off when he's on the 1st line driving Iginla crazy. -
I'd love to see Wheeler on the Wings, but as a consolation i'll watch him on the Jets. No way the Jets trade him. Smiley loves playing here in Winnipeg and he's a fan favorite well above Kane or anyone else on the Jets.

Hey what do you think of 7 Million in two years for X player
Z Winged Dangler replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
swap Filppula with Franzen and i'm on board. -
Sidney Crosby signs 12-year, $104.4M Contract, $8.7M/yr
Z Winged Dangler replied to Tim.D's topic in General
Except Kovalchuk will be back in diapers by the time his contract is up. Crosby at 36 will just be out of them. And yes, hopefully this does affect the Parise $$$ cap hit, cause no one in the NHL should really be making more money than Crosby. Good signing by the Pens and for 8.7 mil/year, if the cap keeps going up, this will seem like a discount and they'll most likely sign Malkin for the same amount per year, if not the exact same contract. He's proven he's the real deal, even if i'm not a fan you gotta give credit where it's due and those 2 deserve it. Parise is max 7.5 now with Crosby being signed for a reasonable amount, not like most GM's in the league throwing stupid price tags for average players. -
Question on Lidstrom's banner raising date
Z Winged Dangler replied to lids4president's topic in General
It'll be a headline story on TSN for sure. They eat stuff like that up, especially a guy with Nick's prestige. -
How much would you give up?
