Come on Justin! Come on Kenny! Let's get this kid signed! He, along with Suter and Smith AND the leader Kronwall will solidify our D for the next 10-20 years!

Here is a question...Every article I read it says Pit now has $14M in cap space....as does capgeek.com. Great, super, but when the Wings are referred to the amount is never constant. These two articles are a perfect example, one says the Wings have $20M and the other says $19M....yet capgeek says $24M....WTF!?! If we are going to use PIt's available amount from capgeek, then lets use it for Detroit too. $24M look WAAAY more appealing than $19M, even though it is still more than PIt, I sure would like these reporters to paint Detroit's picture in the actual light it is in, not a grimmer one... ...carry on, back to subject. Suter to Detroit is MORE important than both to Detroit...

He's gonna play somewhere... Let's just say Holland says, 'Here is your qualifying offer, that is all I am going to offer you." Kyle has three options: 1. Accept the Qualifying Offer 2. test the market as an RFA, he should get a taker somewhere for more than $3.125M or 3. Take the Wings to arbitration where (with the crappy season he had) he risks the chance of being rewarded a lessor contract than $3.15M. The smartest thing for him and the best thing for the Wings would be to explore the RFA world. IF nobody else wants him then accept the qualifying offer...but by then our D corps should be full...so he will have to be traded.

Whats unlikely? Thats the RFA compensation rules. If he signs an offer and holland does not match, holland gets compensated....cut and dry.

Nice that Detroit is on the favorites list, but the author forgot to mention Smith as a former teammate.... Man if we strike out on all these guys, I will die....since holland can, match any offer, if they dont sign here means the allure of the Red Wings has been doused.....it will be a dark day in my household....

If they both sign in pit, I wont be able to watch hockey anymore...guarantee buttman is behind this!
-
...and if he signs somewhere else for more than what he was qualified for, Holland gets a 1st round AND a 3rd round pick in compensation...no brainer to me...

GD! I forgot about Ott...would be a nice pickup... Do we have a link to the Red Wings tendering the qualifying offers? Strange that they only qualified Abby....good that they only qualified Quincey...I can see those draft picks coming soon! Hopefully Edmonton or Montreal picks him up! Lottery pick, here we come!

He will have to lose the visor though...cant go around starting fights with a visor and getting game misconducts all the time!

I am going with my fantasy roster until they are not available anymore: FORWARDS Zach Parise ($8.000m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Bobby Ryan ($5.100m) Damien Brunner ($1.000m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.250m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Jeremy Welsh ($1.100m) / DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Ryan Suter ($8.000m) Ian White ($2.875m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Justin Schultz ($1.100m) Danny DeKeyser ($0.825m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Al Montoya ($1.000m) ------ SALARY CAP: $70,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $67,070,833; BONUSES: $37,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $3,229,167 There are always back-up plans....obvious one Semin in for Parise or if Ryan doesn't find his way here in a trade. Parise AND Semin would be nice...but then again, if Ryan isn't traded for, then I will have to put Franzen back in...like I said, this is my roster until they are not available anymore... EDIT: I know Dekeyser is going back to Western this fall, but I don't like Kindl in there, so I put Danny in.

Well, once Suter is here for a year, he will personally be resposible for Weber coming next July...that will rock! anyhow, IMO and summing up Hollands day, besides not having that blockbuster trade (oh well) I really like Hollands picks! I think the first ones to make it to Detroit are Frk, McKee and Bodin...
-
I have to get rid of my dream roster sig....a couple of guys I had on there already went somewhere else and i had to change them...I don't want to hex Suter and Parise...especially Suter!
-
So glad this kid is Red Wings property! How long until he is in GR? Soon I hope!
-
Ya if it came down to it and Holland had to, trade Abby & Quincey..especially if he signs a Moen or Prust. I think even Gausted would be an upgrade to Abby (more expensive, but indeed an upgrade) Besides if Holland cannot get Parise, that is all the more cash available for a Gausted... I love Abby and it's great that he is a Muskegon kid, but I think that Detroit looks better with: Suter/Schultz/Gausted/Moen vs. Suter/Quincey/Abdelkader... I think Abby would flourish in a city like Phoenix or Anaheim. I am not changing my dream roster to add Moen and Gausted, but I sure as hell would not be disappointed!

Rasmus Bodin is 6'6" and 207lbs. at 18 years old? Says he had to quit hitting because his elbows are head level with the smaller Swedish players and he always gets penalties....I can see this kid being the dark horse of the draft..seriously. Get him over here ASAP and get him in GR to get used to North American play...I like the size and assets this kid brings...this kid won't sit for 5 years, no way! Once he plays with some other big players he will have no issues hitting! I just have to say....behind Suter there is no legit #1 level defender, so Holland has to throw all the marbles at Suter...Chelios needs to be inviting him over for dinner EVERY night and selling this team! Iltich himself needs to send a private jet to pick Suter up and get him ANYTHING he wants to be a Detroit Red Wing....Holland BETTER outbid everyone! I will sacrifice Parise to guarantee Suter is wrapped up for at least 10 years! Give him a front loaded contract, bonuses, stock in Little Ceasers, give him an A, or s*** go right for the C, build a new stadium and name it the Suterdome....whatever it takes Holland! WHATEVER IT TAKES!
-
Here it now....Mike McKee will be the next player to wear #24 in Detroit AND since he is heading to Western this fall, he can get a year under his belt with Dekeyser and become friends....then they can both be Red Wings SOON! I am utterly surprised Kenny drafted this kid....good on ya Kenny! Ok, so not exact same off season so far...Good pick up here!
-
He must be a FRK'ing badass! BTW, wonder if the Wings would give him #91 when he gets to Detroit one day? That would be a slap to Fedorov...I bet Frk would ask Sergei if he minded or not....
-
I say wait to see what pans out on JUly 1st...If Holland cannot land Suter, then sure, re-sign Quincey, but if Suter comes along and Schultz too? Bye Bye Quincey! Too bad Holland has to qualify him for $3.125M, Quincey may just accept that! Damn!

and that's a career for Flip...I remember two season's ago when someone said Franzen is the next Fedorov (after Francine's 5 goal outburst in Ottawa) and look what happened to him....poor Francine...Holland! Trade him right f****** now!

I don't think you really want to know the answer to that...it has to do with Holland always drafting unknown players who more times than not, do not turn out...of course when they do, it's awesome! He also refuses to trade roster players...Franzen and Cleary (although they may not get a name like Ryan in return) should be on the block... But then again, Holland over-values these players and gives them stupid ass contracts that nobody wants to assume...I think Cleary would make a great veteran leader on an up and coming team, but Holland won't ever trade him...Franzen would be a nice pick up for Dallas or Vancouver to add to their Swedish players, but that long ass contract is like Holy Water to a Vampire!
-
Of course, Holland may be waiting on Quincey to see if he lands Suter and Schultz... Quincey then becomes un-needed...

Dammit Holland! Just don'y let Schultz out of your sights! And PLEASE let go of some assets! Get Bobby here!
-
Gosh, I hope you are right! I just need Holland to stand by his words this weekend...he didn't today, but maybe the asking prices were too high...no biggie. I just don't want to hear those famous words..."We kicked the tires...." AT LEAST SUTER AND SEMIN or this off season will be a bust...I think even with just Suter, he still needs upgrades up front...Doan please?
-
The thing is, Pit only has $14M in cap space and if they both signed there it would make 12 forwards and 5 defensemen. I am sure it is going to cost at least $7M each, so that would leave an incomplete team...I am sure they still want to re-sign Matt Niskanen and he is an RFA who made $1.5M last season...not unless they pull a rabbit out of their hat and get them for $6M each.... seriously, I will be done with the whole damn thing if this happens....I rather centcougartown be right and have them both go to Minny...
