Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

a $100,000 raise is VERY modest...lest we forget in 2008 Holland offered him $3.5M and he turned it down and decided to go to arbitration, then he bolted for the KHL for $5M. He won't sign here for anything less than $4.5M and I highly doubt Holland would offer him that. And since Leino is at $4.5M, he will looking for $5M+ around the league...

    High End Trade Options

I'd trade Franzen, Mursak(or Emmerton), 2nd and Tatar for either one of Nash, Ryan or Staal...I'd throw Kindl in for Schultz's rights with Ryan...
  4. LeftWinger

    Trade Ian White?

...while I agree that White will not be back next season, I keep him this season. Get Schultz anyhow and let Quincey walk. Next year when there is an open spot on the defense, Mr. Weber just may come a-calling....Especially after how Suter talks up Detroit as the best place to play in the world... That would make 2013-2014 defense roster look like this: Kronwall - Ericsson Weber - Suter Smith - Schultz DeKeyser now that would rock! <SMACK!> Ok, Ok, I am awake now....sheesh!
  5. I know! Ya, it's a dream roster, but Holland did say if the right trade came along he would make a deal tonight....I would be just as happy with a "rights" trade too! Parise or Schultz or Semin even....I doubt Nashville trades with us...

    2012 NHL Entry Draft Discussion

Without having a 1st rounder this year, I am hoping for a big trade tonight from Kenny! Either a "Rights" trade for Parise or a trade for Bobby Ryan and Schultz's rights...I am giving up any combo of Franzen, Emmerton, Mursak, Kindl, pick(s), prospect....for Ryan or Parise's right's or even for a couple of other draft picks too! (with that being said, I am not getting my hopes too high and am ready for a disappointing night....) I HOPE NOT THOUGH! Ya, sure! Especially since Holland is going to make us a huge deal tonight! You can be the first to report it!
  7. Ok...here is my $70M roster including Brunner (dunno what his salary will be, so I just put $1M to be safe) and my above proposed week of ecstasy with acquiring Ryan (Schultz) along with scoring Suter/Parise.... I traded away Franzen, Mursak, Emmerton & Kindl...not all for Ryan, but I got rid of these guys none-the-less... Of course I am still adamant about siging DeKeyser and Welsh, So until it DOESN'T happen then I will continue to post it! I now have put Montoya as Howard's back-up... FORWARDS Zach Parise ($8.000m) / Pavel Datsyuk ($6.700m) / Henrik Zetterberg ($6.083m) Gustav Nyquist ($0.875m) / Valtteri Filppula ($3.000m) / Bobby Ryan ($5.100m) Damien Brunner ($1.000m) / Darren Helm ($2.125m) / Todd Bertuzzi ($2.075m) Danny Cleary ($2.800m) / Justin Abdelkader ($1.250m) / Patrick Eaves ($1.200m) Drew Miller ($0.838m) / Jeremy Welsh ($1.100m) / DEFENSEMEN Niklas Kronwall ($4.750m) / Ryan Suter ($8.000m) Ian White ($2.875m) / Jonathan Ericsson ($3.250m) Brendan Smith ($0.875m) / Justin Schultz ($1.100m) Danny DeKeyser ($0.825m) / GOALTENDERS Jimmy Howard ($2.250m) Al Montoya ($1.000m) ------ SALARY CAP: $70,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $67,070,833; BONUSES: $37,500 CAP SPACE (23-man roster): $3,229,167
  8. This is good news. I am all for these depth signings and maybe he actually becomes a contributor (and replaces Hudler.) But please Kenny, don't take your eye off the prize(s)! Suter is a MUST MUST MUST and Parise is 2nd! If no Parise, then Semin, if no Semin then a deal must be struck for Ryan (and Schultz) If you have to make a deal on draft day for Ryan, if the price is too good to pass up, then do it! Imagine this story line: Ken Holland makes deal for Bobby Ryan (Justin Schultz) on June 23rd, 2012...On July 1st 2012, Zach Parise & Ryan Suter BOTH sign with Detroit... I wouldn't be able to sit still for years!

    Bobby Ryan

How about B. Ryan for Rick Nash? Hmmmmm.......

    Zach Parise

Not that it matters to me or us if you are a Wild fan or not...we enjoy and encourage fans from other teams to come in and be part of the North America's best fan forum, but this link here seems to tell a different tale than you are telling us.... http://fans.wild.nhl.com/community/user/432251-centcougar07/ ...sure are a whole lot of "We" comments referring to the Wild on this forum. Awesome! That is great! You are very welcome here, just don't try to prentend you are something that you are not... ...anyway, that being said, congrats on Harding re-signing. He realized that there really are no starting jobs out there and didn't want to move. Wish he had come here, but oh well. I just hope Parise comes this way instead of that way...if not, Wings will be fine, there are other options out there...Rick Nash, Bobby Ryan...Holland will not let this team do anything but get better than last season! (just say no to Hudler/Quincey) note: Sorry, that was my obligatory mention of my anti-Hudler/Quincey stance... I will quote you on that! He should realize, he is welcome here as a Wild fan...it what makes our forum great!

    Bobby Ryan

Oh, I would love to ditch..err...I mean trade Franzen, but I don't think Anaheim would take him and that long ass contract. I mention Filppula because Selanne is coming back and has said how much he likes playing with Flip (International play) and that he has great chemistry with him...so naturally if we were going to try to pry Ryan out of there, they would definitely want Filppula to start with... I agree with you guys about sign what you can first, then make trades if you need to, but unfortunately this is the time (the draft) when the trades are made. Trades for rights and players. If Holland has any interest in Bobby Ryan, he will need to trade for him on draft day...and if Anaheim has any interest in Filppula then they have already put it in Holland's ear... We already have the next Filppula in Pulkkinen perhaps better and as good as Filppula has become, this team is better with Ryan. Of course there is no way of knowing what it would take to get him here, I am just guessing.... to ANA: V. Filppula/ L. Ferraro / 4th Round to DET: B. Ryan / J. Schultz (rights)
  13. LeftWinger

    Bobby Ryan

Get it done, Kenny! Honestly, I would take him over Parise, but in reality, trade Anaheim a package that includes Filppula and get both Ryan & Parise...oh and Suter....

If we fail to reload with top UFAs we should?

Oh....well, I still hope they sign him after his senior year...
  15. LeftWinger

Why isn't the Wild in hot water for their owner's comments?

"THEY" or "WE" you can come out of the closet now...
  16. LeftWinger

    Zach Parise

BTW poser...do not EVER refer to the Red Wings as WE again...Us REAL Red Wings fans would never go to another teams forum and pretend to be a fan of that team. We are Wings fans and proud, if you are not proud enough to come here as a Wild fan, then I question what kind of Wild fan you really are... I bet Detroit "WE" win another Cup before "you" even get to the finals. And in ten years, the Wings "WE" will have at least 2 before "you" get there...and now that is something "not even close." Even if for some reason Detroit "WE" don't end up winning any in the next ten years, I guarantee neither will "you." Let alone "you" won't even make the playoffs for 10 straight years... EDIT: and just in case you have amnesia:

    2012 General Offseason Signing Thread

I know July 1st isn't here yet, but I am just going to prepare myself for Holland not doing anything...That way I won't blow a gasket... Please Holland.....Schultz/Suter/Parise/Dekeyser/Welsh....No Hudler, No Quincey... AT LEAST if you sign Quincey, let it be $3.5M or less.... I am hopeful.....just not getting too excited...

Red Wings Prepared to Offer Hudler Contract

God, please do not offer Hudler a contract....PLEASE!

Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

Ya, its a good deal that he will definitely out perform, I was just hoping for a bit more modest raise, OR sign the big names first, then hand out the bonuses... I am all for having Helm here for the next 4 years...I, on the other hand, am not all for paying Val $5M+ when he is due up next year...and that is what this signing is going to directly lead to. Especially if Hudler gets $5M...and if Holland gives it to Hudler then I will have a fit... What kids? Just Helm, Abby is still unsigned and I hope Quincey isn't...ever.

Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

Oh poo on Harding...oh well $1.9M was more than I would have given him anyway. Kenny says he wants a backup without health issues, wonder who he is going to go after? Again, for you weirdo's out there, I am not calling Holland out or saying Helm isn't worth the money, just wish they could have kept it a little lower, to have more to offer the big names...thats all...I am glad he is here for the next 4 years...
  21. LeftWinger

Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

What is the news on Quincey? I cannot believe I got -7 on that first post...I didn't say anything negative except I wish the Cap hit was less...sheesh fickle fans!
  22. LeftWinger

Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

I hope I don't get a lot of negs. I was not calling it a bad signing, or that Helm is a bum and not worth it or that Holland should be fired. I was just hoping for less of a cap hit in order to make sure we have the cash to bid high of the players we need to change this team. I am glad Helm is going to be part of that and hope that he signs again in 4 years to a lifetime contract...I just hope that this trend doesn't continue with the overpayment (around the league) because like I said, it's going to ruin the NHL when the Colton Orr's are making $4M soon... That being said, we still have $24M left to spend of Abby, Parise, Suter, Harding & Schultz & Dekeyser & Welsh...so far I haven't lost out on anyone from my wish list! (yet!)
  23. LeftWinger

Darren Helm signs 4 year extension

Honestly, I was hoping for a more of a $1.5M Cap hit, I know he is a solid player and is good at what he does, but I just don't think he earned a raise over twice what he was payed last season...I guess we will see in 4 years if he is outplaying this $2.1M. It's not that he isn't worth it, it's just needed cap space to make this team better... If Holland overpays Quincey, I will have an ulcer... I hope he keeps Abby at a modest pay...I am hoping for $1.1, but after this, I am seeing $1.8M... sorry guys, not being negative, it's just needed cap space, or maybe sign the big UFA's first and then pay your guys a bit of a inflated contract, thats all I am saying...of course after re-signing Bertuzzi at too much money, I should have seen this coming... NO QUINCEY!!! NO HUDLER!!! Please God! Please Holland! PLEASE!!!! EDIT: Also, do you now realize what it's going to take to re-sign Filppula? He will get at least $5M...that is the problem here, (and not just Holland) keep overpaying and the NHL will go belly up... I honestly see a point where the guys making $500,000 today will be at $2M within a couple of years...Hey Minny, go ahead a give Parise the world, ruin the NHL (again.)

If we fail to reload with top UFAs we should?

Yes, Holland and Iltich persuaded him to go back to school, I am not sure the rules regarding this, I remember the Wings signed Abdelkader while he was at MSU, were they able to do so because they owned his rights? If not, then why couldn't they sign Danny while at WMU for his Senior year?
  25. Wow, you would think after their run, fans would be lining up for Tix, eh? Oh wait, it's New Jersey...They are part of that East Coast, NFL first, NBA next, MLB then Texas Hold Em, then NHL fanbase...That fanbase reaches as far west as Pittsburgh...and starts again in Southern California and heads East to Colorado...
