No problem, I gotcha. I'm just saying...Brunner's an NHL virgin, not even guaranteed to make the roster. So, that we've landed him doesn't have me breathing any easier re: us quite possibly losing the Parise sweepstakes.

The price for Girardi would be steep, but, considering our blue line situation, and considering Girardi's package, anything short of ungodly ridiculous is worth it. (Assuming, of course, we'll be signing 2-3 key UFAs.) We're not getting him. But I'll keep fighting the good fight (at least, until July 2nd).

Truth. I see Suter coming here; I think he's a near-lock. Parise, the jury's out (but I'd be surprised if the Wings weren't in the top three of his short list.)

As much as we rag on him, the guy is pretty fantastic at his job.

Some people here are seriously undervaluing Parise. The guy's a stud, a workhorse. Semin is one of the laziest players I have ever seen, and Brunner - Brunner? Seriously? As for the topic at hand - I don't see the Pens getting either of them, honestly. But I've been wrong before....

Well, for starters, the Pens don't have their s*** together. They had a complete and utter meltdown against the Flyers. They were dismantled, exposed. They were obliterated. So now they're gonna run out and get 2-3 defensively sound superstars to fix their problems - instead of what they should do, which is learn to play some f****** defense (and tell MAF his job is on the line this season). Parise would be the new J. Staal - the third-fiddle workhorse who allows the offensive magic to happen in the regular season without Cwosby and Mawkin having to play any defense. Crosby and Malkin may be the two biggest names in the league - but I like to think Parise's a little smarter than that.

A thought: Nick is leaving. Would he leave if it looked like it might very well wreck this team, i.e. if Holland, in their recent talks, gave him no reason to think he's not ready to go balls-out this summer? As for the specific topic at hand - nah, I don't think this summer will make or break or define his legacy.

Suter doesn't want to play in the East (or so we've all been led to believe). Parise, he may very well sign with the Pens - but I highly doubt it. I think we have a better shot at landing him. But yeah, if the Pens get either and we get neither...riots in the streets.

He's a trade asset, IMO.* Not bait, because he's a pretty solid guy for us - but "tradable," IMO. Been saying this for a while. *Unless all we're adding to the blue line this summer is Dennis Wideman or Jason Garrison, in which case, f***.
