Jedi 1,865 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Linky Link For conduct proven to be a "destructive and continuing threat" to his team, an arbitrator ruled Wednesday that the Eagles were justified in suspending their All-Pro receiver for four games -- and are within their rights to deactivate him for the rest of the year. SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted November 23, 2005 Adios amigo. T.O. did this to himself and good job to the Eagles for sticking to their guns. Maybe now Owens will hopefully learn to keep his antics and talk within closed doors and not outside of the organization.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted November 24, 2005 Bye bye. Hope he goes to the Cowboys or Packers next so he can commence destroying them from the inside out too.
Cujosmydawg 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Kudos to the arbitrator on this ruling. No one man is bigger than the TEAM he plays for. While his antics may be entertaining it's not pro wrestling.

Now the arbitrator needs to find a new job, he's getting fired over it.
Naslund19 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Owens is a great player, he just needs to learn to keep his mouth shut! After this incident, I'm not sure who is going to really sign him at this point. There has been a lot of speculation of where Owens may end up, but nothing is certain just yet. IMO, no team is going to take a chance and sign him to a big contract due to his big ego and constant running of the mouth. It should be interesting though who signs him and how it will all play out in the end.

betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted November 25, 2005 Now the arbitrator needs to find a new job, he's getting fired over it. I've only heard that the NFLPA wants him fired, which comes naturally as they lost the ruling. In fact, Bloch is in line to rule on the Lions' grievance against Charles Rogers. Red Kingdom 4 Report post Posted November 30, 2005 (edited) You hear the latest on TO? It seems that Sen. Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania is saying he's going to convene the Senate Judiciary Committee and start hearings on the TO matter with the Eagles. He says that, he felt that the Eagles treated Owens in a nasty and underhanded manner. Or something like that. OK, the story is on ESPN.com. Spector says the Eagles may have committed an anti-trust violation by keeping TO from talking to other teams about his services and that was unfair to Owens. Here we go, more government buttinskis into pro posrts. By the way, Spector does not support TO in his contract squabble with the Eagles. In fact, he says the Eagles were right not to pay him and should sue for breach of contract but, this other stuff is different.
