Also Drummond re-signed yesterday and Edwards re-upped today.

With Brees going to NO maybe there's a chance they'll trade down instead of taking D'Brick...

Would you be in favor of the Lions trading up to land D'Brick or Mario Williams at No. 2?

(Rumor has it that Julian Peterson is in town today, along with Kimo Van Offenhosenhagenvolkswagon.)

Kitna may not be all that bad of move. Carson Palmer loves him to death, and if there is any hope left for Joey maybe Kitna can help him become a good QB. And if Joey doesn't work out, Kitna can start, and then we can focus on drafting a QB.

IMO, i think the lions should stay where they are and draft a defensive back. I think huff from texas would be the most valuable to the team. I have always liked Jimmy Williams from VT.

If the lions moved up to the #2 slot tho, I would draft D'brick. Offensive line needs more help than the defensive line.

Kitna...interesting. In my mind, Kitna and Harrington are the same level of ability. And Kitna has publicly said he will only go to a team where he can start (or will have the chance to beat out whoevers there). I wonder...if that means Harrington will be let go????

The Bradford signing is interesting too. Bradford is a guy with decent size and great speed. If he had better hands, better route running ability, and the guts to go through the middle...he'd be a star. (Huh...sounds like Rogers and Roy, don't it?) Bradford is just a guy to keep teams honest...he'll run deep routes and beat man coverage with his speed. But he'll drop most of them passes. I think he's around to push our 3 young WR's...and might stick around as a backup. He MIGHT beat out Rogers...that all depends on Rogers, really...

RW was solid...losing him sucks a little. Losing Kyle Kosier is not a great loss...but we ain't been picking up any OL's yet...so that's not good. Signing Kalimba's...not bad, not good...he's a spot pass rusher, that's all. Signing Drummond is a good move. I think we lost Andre Goodman too...his loss probably won't be missed though.

Interesting, interesting...

We need a LB and a couple OL...fo sho...

Oh, I expect the Lions to stay where they are and hope Hawk falls, but I think they'll be perfectly happy with Huff. (IMO, J. Williams is overrated and'll fall into the mid-1st round.)

I'd squeal like a little girl if Mario Williams dropped to No. 9, but that ain't happening.

Wouldn't be surprised if they opt to draft Cutler, either, but with the hype lately he could be going to Oakland. (Draft Cutler = cut Joey.)

Judging by Tom Kowalski's story this morning it appears that Harrington's Lions career is pretty much over (if it's true):

Joey wants out.

That would explain why the NFL Network was saying last night that the Lions were still talking to Josh McCown despite signing Kitna earlier in the day...

Should make for an interesting next 2 months. Sign another QB to the roster or cut/trade Joey and add a QB (Cutler?) in the draft?

Oooooooo, a QB battle between Josh McCown and Jon Kitna. That would be soooooo worth watching. Great.

It's Schaub time.....pleeeeeez. I can't blame Joey if he wants out, because here the new regime came in and said "Joey's our guy" and then they sign a guy who made it very clear he won't go somewhere to be the backup.

Cutler won't slide to the Lions, he's Mr. Draft Buzz.

If joey is gone, then I would draft a quarterback and let Kitna start while the rookie waits in the wing. I credit Kitna a lot to the success of Carson Palmer. It is critical to a rookie that he learns the nfl quarterback position from an ACTUAL quarterback.

Joey didnt have anyone to really show him that. That IMO, is the heart of why Joey has not done well here. No veteran QB leadership.

I wouldn't be too quick to assume that -- I'd wait until after the Pro Days for both Leinart and Young later on. Shoot, a few weeks ago Cutler at No. 9 was considered a reach.

ENOGUH WITH CUTLER!!! Look in the past at QB's who become over night stars right before the draft ( remember Aklie Smith?) Cutler is getting to much hype because Leinart/Young hadn't had their workouts yet.

To bad we couldn't get Culpepper (I'm know it was never a option)

Difference between Akili Smith and Jay Cutler is that Cutler has had a pretty good career on a lousy football team, while Smith basically had one very good senior season and that was about it.

That is true, I guess we will see in 3-4 years

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a higher pick if teams are still highly interested in him. Wasn't it the Kansas City Chiefs that expressed a lot of interest in him?

Don't know. Who they trade him to would depend on what they want most in the draft, though. If they really want a QB, they could "trade up" in essence by trading Harrington to a team above them in the draft order - the Jets, Raiders, Titans, etc. If the Lions are after Cutler, they could decide to trade Harrington to one of those teams for a lower pick than what the Chiefs might offer.
