Detroit Pistons (& NBA) Playoff Thread

It certainly wasn't their best game and they do have to play a little smarter. But the Bucks shot lights out, I mean it was like they didn't miss one shot. Being down 18 doesn't usually bother me as the Pistons can come back from that. But when the Bucks can just throw the ball up there blindfolded and still make the shot it's no use.

Everyone get's lucky once and a while. Or the sun shines on the dog's ass every now and then. I think that's how that one goes.

*edit* And I was thinking the whole time, "Poor Aussie only gets to see a few games and he has to watch this." I feel so horrible that you had to witness that. You should get some ECF games down the road though so they will have their chance to redeem themselves haha

Haha cheers mate!

Yeh it’s just annoying how they’ve been setting all these records this season and jump out to a 2-0 lead and then play like that just as I get to watch. I think when it comes to the Conference Finals most, if not every game is televised, so I just need to stay patient. Enjoy the win Bucks because it's the last you’ll enjoy.

Ouch - very ugly. I turned it off some time ago. I'm still not worried about the Bucks though - the Pistons obviously took a night off. Shouldn't do that in the playoffs - but they did. I'm fretting much more about the wings right now - don't have enough energy to worry about the Pistons too. I'm sure they'll bounce back in Game 4.

Heh, I thought the same thing while watching the game.

Here's to hoping that Aussie gets to see the real Pistons the next time out, and not whoever those hacks were. :D:P

The MVP certainly is doing s**t in the playoffs. Steve Nash had a total of 8 points in yesterdays game.

Upsets in the making? Chicago over Miami? Sacremento over S.A.? Looking at the past three games I think S.A. should be a little worried right now...

And if they get knocked out there isn't anybody else that can beat Detroit, with home court advantage, in a 7 game series.

Thanks Hito and dallas27, hopefully the next televised game isn’t so bad. :D

So the Mavs sweep the Grizzlies. I can’t believe how bad Memphis are in the Playoffs. They are 0-12 in their franchise history, what a joke. So Dallas will now face the Spurs who are locked in a huge battle against Sacramento. Even if the Spurs advance they will face a very well prepared and rested Dallas. Looking good.

The NBA playoffs have been amazing so far. So many crazy finishes, lots of drama. The physical play (several flagrant fouls), the crazy Chris Kaman/Reggie Evans ******** pulling incident (as bizarre as it gets), the Lakers, a possible all-Los Angeles second round matchup, the Bulls taking it to the Heat, the Kings taking it to the Spurs. Amazing stuff so far.

Kobe's shots at the end of regulation and OT in game 4 were insane. Wow.

Good, series wrapped up already after a dominating performance. So we will play the winner of the Cleveland-Washington series. Neither match up scares me, although you know if we face the Cavs all the hype will be on James…

What we just saw is a far superior team playing in the comfort of home on several days' rest and preparation, against a team that just went through two emotionally and physically draining OT games in one week that took all their effort to win, and then had to turn around and play 40 hours later. The Pistons shouldn't have a hard time in Game 2 either, but then again they probably won't hit 14 of their first 16 three-balls. Given that Lindsey Hunter was knocking everything down, and McDyess was a monster on defense, and Delk was firing on all cylinders, I would say it's a safe bet that the Pistons could have put their starters in street clothes after one half and the outcome still would not have been in doubt.

It's over. Quote from the article on the game:

Ultimately, however, Cleveland reserve forward Donyell Marshall expects the postseason-neophyte Cavs to be overcome by the playoff-tested Pistons.

"Detroit has the knowledge from winning a championship two years ago, and going to the championship last year," Marshall said Monday. "I think their knowledge is going to overtake our youth right now."

Guys just don't say this sort of thing publicly. When they do, it's rare, and it means something. The Pistons are in the Cavs' head, and all that remains is to take care of business. If I were a Cleveland fan, I'd be cringing.

Pistons in 5 - tops.

Ugh - Nets win game 1. I would much rather play Miami in the ECF - I hope they rebound in game 2. A series with the Nets would go 6 or 7 - I really don't like that team at all.

Pulling for Dallas in the west. I'm sick of San Antonio and their little French mascot. Not sure if anyone will beat them - until they run into the Pistons of course.... ;)

Another dominating performance by the Pistons. Shot out of the blocks early and got up by 20 points in the second quarter. This team is just incredible, even Billups and Hamilton shooting a combined 5-20 didn't give the Cavs the slightest of chances.

In other series Dallas are destroying the Spurs and will tie that series at 1. Lets hope the Mavs win both their home games...

Things aren't looking so rosy tonight. The Pistons ALLOWED the Cavs to tie the series (2-2) by beating themselves for the second game in a row. No guaran-Sheed tonight.

This team should have smoked these pretenders and gone home up 3-1 for the kill. I still think they'll win the series, but that was a meltdown worthy of the Red Wings in yon game 6 ( <_< ). A chance to win with 8 sec, but no give the underdogs some hope. Ah sigh, the Pistons never make it look easy.
